“Excellent Stay”

The hotel is location in an excellent location if you are in Amsterdam to visit the Ziggo Dome or the johan Cryff arena. It is literally next door to both venues. Comfortable room with easy check in. Nice bar and breakfast area too. Will definitely stay again.

Amazing stay at Jaz in the City. Staff were great and friendly. I asked for balloons and banners to be set up in the room a few months prior for my boyfriend’s birthday and it looked amazing! Already want to return here. Room was clean and was so quiet at night despite there being a concert in the Ajax stadium. 100% recommend this hotel.

“Perfect for the Ziggo Dome or Amsterdam and really comfortable and stylish”

We booked in after finding the hotel we'd booked into about 20 minutes away left a bit to be desired in terms of location and cleanliness. We weren't disappointed with this choice. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and the hotel entrance is literally seconds from the Ziggo Dome entrance and a 5 minute walk to the Bijmer ArenA station for easy and frequent access to the town centre, airport or InterCity... perfect. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with great soundproofing and we had open views to the north and the ability to open a window if required. Bathroom was first class and beds are huge, with a separate seating area by the windows which was great for relaxing in with a drink and a bite to eat. We'll be back.

This wasn't our first stay at Jaz and albeit somewhere we'd stay again, it did slightly fall short of our expectations and previous visits. The hotel is in a good location with the nearby metro providing easy access from Amsterdam Centraal and to and from other areas of the city. The local area also has plenty of amenities which makes it a great location. The rooms are a good size, clean, uncluttered and with good lighting. The bed was very comfortable and the layout of the room is purposeful and well-planned. However, we did have some problems with our room. Our shower was not only leaking due to the seal on the door but also faulty in turning itself off (it worked after doing this a few times and being turned back on). Our television similarly turned itself off after a few minutes. We did report the television on our first night and were told that a technician would be on site the following day. On our second day, we also reported the shower (which had worsened) in the morning and were again told a technician may be on site later. However, only when calling again later that day were we told that there wasn't anyone available to remedy this. As it was our penultimate day, we were content to have some towels to soak up the leaking water (switching rooms with less than a day remaining of our stay did seem excessive albeit appreciated from the hotel). We were somewhat underwhelmed to return to our room that evening to find the already wet towels on the floor hadn't been taken when our new towels were delivered to our room. It did represent a lapse in otherwise very good customer service that this wasn't communicated to us given we had already reported the problem. We also noticed that our mini fridge didn't keep anything chilled and bathroom amenities weren't replenished before we occupied the room. The communal areas of the hotel are similarly clean and well-maintained. The hotel gym was sufficient for a workout but after a few years of staying here, we did notice it starting to become a bit tired with some mats in need of replacement and machines starting to sound a bit rickety. Jaz would continue to be our choice for a city break in Amsterdam but it should be mindful of where it is slightly falling short of its usual high standards. Hopefully this was more of an aberration rather than a falling in standards from what is usually a great hotel.
