My second time in Budapest, and this was a better location than the hotel I had before, which was a bit further out… This one’s a bit more located in the central business area, but is easily walkable to a lot of the sites. The hotel itself is situated on a backstreet, however, my room faced the front of the hotel and there was noise. The room itself was large enough with a big queen size bed, however, I found this a bit too hard for me. Bathroom facilities were fine, and TV had a selection of European channels. The air/con settings in the room had no effect whatsoever, so had to open window in the evening to cool the room down a bit however this cave way to sporadic traffic noise. Staff throughout the hotel seems to be really nice and helpful, and there is coffee tea, hot chocolate water available 24/7 in the social area on the ground floor. As other guests reviews have mentioned Breakfast is okay though even being there at 7:30, the “hot” food was pretty cold… Eggs, sausage and vegetables were all cold. An early review had said how the bacon wasn’t crisp and firm, however, not all countries have it like this so for me, it was cooked okay, except that it was cold.

“Lovely hotel - good location”

Lovely hotel on a quiet side street close to all transport links. Staff friendly and helpful. Beds super comfy and slept really well. Rooms cleaned daily and very spacious. While they had a complimentary drinks machine downstairs, we missed having this facility available in our room.

This hotel could so easily be a 5 out of 5. The staff here were so friendly and accommodating. There was a very warm welcome on check in. The bedroom was beautifully furnished and very clean as was the bathroom. The public areas and the breakfast room were trendy. However the food at breakfast was disappointing. The hot food consisted of undercooked bacon, fried eggs that were very unappealing and two other hot dishes that looked awful. The cold selection was good but they kept running out of things either due to slow replenishment or running out of items. On the first level was a lounge/sitting area with free tea/coffee/juices. A nice idea but the juices ran out twice and also glasses and mugs for the drinks. There was a nice small bar in one corner but it was shut when we were there. The corridors leading to our bedroom had wallpaper that was patched up or peeling off. A minor point but it needs redoing. That said I loved this hotel. I would return. If the breakfast items were sorted out and the free drinks were always available this would immediately raise the standards hugely. It has enormous potential!

“Not a 4 * but a lovely hotel and location”

Not a 4* hotel in our opinion. No bar, or restaurant (other than a buffet breakfast). Room was clean, but the bathroom door is not sealed (1" gap around the glass door), so if you are in the bedroom, you can hear everything. So you can't get up earlier than your partner to shower, without waking... more

So you can't get up earlier than your partner to shower, without waking them up. Asked for hot boiled eggs for breakfast, they microwaved the ones on the buffet. Asked for bed side reading lamp to work, they were unable to achieve this over our 4 night stay, (wanted us to change rooms, but we did decline as we were exhausted and wanted to sleep!) so again, disturbing my partner when I wanted to read at night. I would expect this from a 3*, but we chose a hotel with a bar as we walked every day as this is an ideal location for walking, but we had to stay out until late if we wanted more than orange, water tea or coffee (also not in rooms, only in lounge). Lovely hotel if you lower your expectations!
