We had a late night flight in, only arriving into Budapest around 2AM. I went as a group of 5 girls, none of us had been to this city before - when it came to checking in we arrived to an apartment building with no reception or instruction of how we can get into the building/our allocated apartment. After trying multiple numbers found via loveholidays and google we got through the someone on an emergency line for the hotel… thank goodness one of us had working internet abroad because no free WiFi until you get to your room. The man on the phone then asked for WhatsApp contact, when that was given we were asked for our email. We eventually got emailed a 5 page check in form (which should have been sent prior to arrival so that check-in info was available when we arrived). At this point we were still stood outside of the apartment building, it was 3AM, in a foreign country and to top it off we had a strange man talking to us through the intercom calling us stupid and playing horror music - it sounds like a joke and I wish it was because as a group of young girls we were petrified. We were eventually given the passcode to the apartments so that we could at least complete the lengthy form in a safer environment… Once in the apartment we genuinely had no complaints, other than the fact it would’ve been nicer to know about the electric blinds on all the windows because we only found this out on our last night and definitely would’ve appreciated a lie in not interrupted by the sunrise after only getting into our apartment around 0330 AM on the first night. I wouldn’t necessarily not recommend this place, it has everything you need inside and is in a good location. Just be mindful about the check in process, especially if flying in late like us as the reception office shuts around 8PM I think it was and we had NO communication about this.

“Self catering not a 4 * hotel”

The hotel is advertised as a 4 star,but it's rather a selfcatering than a hotel. Nobody came to clean our room during the 4 nights staying, not even to take the garbage or to change the towels. Pros: *Close to the city center (10-15 minutes walking to the Basilica St Stefan) and few minutes away… more

The hotel is advertised as a 4 star,but it's rather a selfcatering than a hotel. Nobody came to clean our room during the 4 nights staying, not even to take the garbage or to change the towels. Pros: *Close to the city center (10-15 minutes walking to the Basilica St Stefan) and few minutes away from all public transportation (bus/tram/metro). This is a big plus in Budapest. *They have a nice dining area, a dishwasher and all you need for a meal in the apartment. *Garage is ok, spacious, underground. Cons: *nobody at the reception, so you could only talk through WhatsApp. We asked for clean towels in the morning of the third day, they promised they will, but we only received them late in the afternoon, when we asked again. *there is no air conditioning, which is terrible when outside is 37-39 degrees. *the walls in the room, corridors and lobby were dirty

When they were there they were unhelpful, otherwise communicated via Booking.com. - No full length mirror - One towel per person, when asked for an extra towel (over four times) was told I'd get a new "clean" towel, but could not get an extra towel. Was told it was usual in Hungary to only get one towel (not true). Borrowed from my cousin's hotel round the corner, who were more than happy to give extra towels. - Although recently renovated, it was really badly designed. Plug sockets in inconvenient places. Towel hooks on opposite side of bathroom to bath/shower. - Lobby area floor filthy, which meant the lift and corridors became filthy too. I reported it and supplied pictures, no response. - No proper shower curtain, so floor got wet every time I had a shower. - No complimentary bottle of water. Other: No USB charging ports (would expect in a modern place) Unclear how air conditioning worked. Followed instructions, but didn't feel like it actually worked. Unclear how TV worked, other than Netflix.
