“Tricky to find”

This boutique hotel is in a very excellent location to explore the city. It is just a few minutes walk to the Basilica or the river. We loved walking around the area. This boutique hotel is in a very excellent location to explore the city. It is just a few minutes walk to the Basilica or the river. We loved walking around the area. The entrance to the hotel is off the Main Street, and it is easier to look for the associated cafe than it is the hotel. The cafe is only marginal, but the hotel breakfast was great with made-to-order eggs/ omelettes,. There is a pot of coffee which this American really appreciated! There are also complimentary cookies and tea upstairs available at all times. The staff was very helpful.

“Wonderful hotel”

This hotel is absolutely perfect (were there with my family and friends during advent), located in city center. We didn’t find any negatives. Rooms are luxury and clean. We appreciated refreshing lounge and á la carte breakfast. Hope that we come back soon :)

On arrival to this hotel, I was greeted by the staff at the reception desk. You do have to get buzzed in so a quick press of the bell at the front door and someone was there to greet me immediately. After a very quick check-in, I was shown to room 101. The room had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. It was clean, well decorated perfect for my one night stay. It is worth noting at checking I got a free welcome drink voucher to use in the bar in the basement. I have stayed here before, but in one of their executive suites. Room 101 was a standard room. The only difference I could tell to the executive suite was a smaller seating area and no bath. (The executive suite had a bath for two people!!) This is an old hotel decorated in an old style matching the ambience of the town. The bed is incredibly comfortable and I slept like a baby. The air-conditioning unit is operated by remote control and did seem to have a mind of its own. However, the temperature felt about right throughout my stay. There isn’t drink making facilities in the room, but there is a central drinks/snack area in the landing. I like this idea that would much prefer to have it in the room, as some rooms do have the space for it. I went out for dinner in the neighbouring La Mareda restaurant. I mention that here because you get discount if you are staying in this hotel. Breakfast at the hotel is well equipped for what you need and for the price you pay. A small selection of drinks, continental food and a breakfast menu on offer for cooked foods. In both my stays at this hotel, the staff have been phenomenal in all areas. You cannot drive directly to this hotel as the streets are too narrow to get the car down and some areas are pedestrianised. Make sure you know where you’re going before you arrive here as Gyor can be a bit of a rabbit warren in some areas. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Gyor. Undoubtedly, I will be back on business again and will choose this hotel.
