It was a fantastic rest for me, the food and drinks were delicious, the staff was very kind, the room was clean and comfortable. The pools are great for relaxing. The hotel is very nice, there are meny things to see in the area, in Hévíz and its sourroundings. Excellent service in terms of price/value ratio. I will go back again.

“Enjoy Héviz at Hotel Carbona”

We had a conference at Hotel Carbona. This a large, nicely refurbished hotel. The room was cosy, the service was great. The spa and wellness unit is fantastic. Also it is very nice to walk around Héviz. The breakfast selection was enormous and the food was very tasty.

Spent 4 nights at this property and the proce point doesn't reflect the quality of the service or presentation of the rooms. It is a fine property, but I think we paid about 3x times too much. Spent 4 nights at this property and the proce point doesn't reflect the quality of the service or presentation of the rooms. It is a fine property, but I think we paid about 3x times too much. Paid less for 5 star properties in Bucharest, Budapest and Dubai for what we paid for with this property. Honestly, it felt like I was transported back 30 years with this property but they didn't keep the prices of 30 years ago. Rooms - outdated and a bath tub that should be seen as trip/ fall hazard. Pools - fine Restaurant - highlight of the trip. Food was plentiful and well prepared, except for the overpriced drinks. It is tacky and unnecessary to charge for water (just under 6 euros for one 75ml bottle; or Western European prices (20 euros) for wine when the cost is somewhere around 3 euros a bottle. Parking - 9 euros a day Gym / fitness center looked like something you would see in 1980s. Tip for the hotel. Actually stay at a well run 4 or 5 star international property and learn what it takes to perform at the price point you are charging for. Overall - disappointed, won't be back.

Beautifully Renovated Spa Bath. Very good sauna and a unique experience shower. There are always enough sauna towels, which are clean and nicely ironed. Unfortunately, the steam room was operating at a very low efficiency. The sauna masters were mediocre and boring, just like the sauna rituals themselves. Pleasant outdoor pool. There are also two thermal water pools where you can spend a relaxing time. The showers and changing rooms are adequate, and there is a centrifuge for drying swimsuits. The restaurant is very nice, and they offer generous meals. All the waitstaff are very kind. Unfortunately, at dinner they charge for the tea that is available for free at breakfast, so the only option – even for drinking water – is to buy overpriced beverages. This is unreasonable, considering that Hungary has excellent drinking water, which should be preferred over expensive and often poor-quality bottled mineral water. The courtyard and gardens are very well maintained. The hotel itself has great potential. Sadly, this cannot be said about room management – which is the biggest downside. The rooms are in dire need of renovation, not only because of the extremely outdated style but also due to the condition of the equipment. In our room, number 2605 : • The wardrobe door doesn’t work, it’s stuck. • The shower door is broken off. • The sink is clogged. • But above all, the worst was the air conditioning. It clearly hasn’t been cleaned in years, as it made the room smell very unpleasant. Moreover, it couldn’t cool the room at all. The terrace is small and outdated, with an ugly iron railing covered by a metal plate. Even though it’s on the sixth floor, you can’t enjoy the view because all you see is the worn-out metal plate – unless you’re standing. On Saturday, the garden cinema operated at such a high volume until 11:00 PM, followed by loud music, that it was impossible to sleep or even watch your own movie in the room, even with all doors and windows closed. I do not recommend staying here on weekends if you’re looking to rest. It is sad to see a hotel with such a great location, good facilities, and bathing opportunities being operated this way. I do not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a carefree and relaxing stay. ⸻
