I had a wonderful stay at Gateway Dehradun. The hotel's location on Haridwar Bypass Road near ISBT is very convenient. Mr, Zakir he's very supportive The rooms are clean, spacious, and offer great mountain views. ​The food at Earth Pavilion was delicious with a wide variety of choices, and the staff was courteous, polite, and attentive throughout our stay. Facilities like the pool and fitness centre were well-maintained. Highly recommended for family trips as well as business visits!

Located on the Dehradun Haridwar Road at Niranjanpur, this property has recently been taken over by the Taj Group from Sarovar Portico. The building has an imposing presence, although it is currently undergoing much needed renovations and refurbishment. The location is convenient but doesn't offer particularly scenic views. The rooms are well sized for two. Bathroom, toiletries and in room facilities standard and are nothing outstanding. At present, the hotel appears to be critically understaffed and this is evident across almost every department: front office, housekeeping, overall upkeep and the restaurant. Service can therefore be slower than expected, ACs can be noisy, the shampoo bottle may not be refilled, the cup may be not properly cleaned and the carpet may have stains. The lunch & dinner menu as well as the wine list are also quite limited and could benefit from more variety. What truly stands out, however, is the dedication of the staff. Despite being stretched, they are courteous, sincere and genuinely try their best to ensure guests have a comfortable stay. We were especially grateful that although the hotel was fully booked when we arrived, the team managed to arrange one room for us on priority since we were travelling with an elderly family member. That thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated. The buffet breakfast is another highlight, offering a good spread with satisfying quality. The hotel also has ample parking, a pleasant lawn and an open air swimming pool that adds to the overall appeal. While there is no dedicated travel desk, the hotel can arrange taxis for both local sightseeing and outstation trips at reasonable rates. Overall, this is a good hotel with considerable potential. Once the ongoing repairs are completed and staffing levels improve, it should provide a much better guest experience. Given the Taj brand's reputation, I hope these shortcomings are addressed soon so the property can truly live up to the standards guests associate with the name.
