My family and I stayed at Ajit Bhawan for a week in an Ajit suite to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. The entire stay was a magical experience that exceeded our wildest expectations. My only complaint is that they have thoroughly ruined hotels for us and I have no idea how we will ever stay at a “regular” non-palace hotel ever again. Pre-arrival and arrival: We were in regular contact with Mr Panwar, the Reservations Manager. He was extremely polite and helpful in accommodating several requests, including arranging a surprise for our anniversary on our first night at the restaurant. The hotel dispatched a car to the airport for us and the driver was extremely friendly and helpful. The car was extremely clean, cold drinks are carried and makes the entire experience stress free. Don’t bother with Uber as the personalised service you receive is well worth it. Arrival itself was extremely pleasant, sitting in a plush and welcoming lounge/living room and a refreshing welcoming drink served whilst paperwork was handled away from us with minimal disruption. There was a welcome gift of traditional desserts and fruit on arrival in the room. We were given a tour of the grounds after check in, along with some history. Sumer Singh Ji, one of the guards, was extremely polite when welcoming as well and permitted us to take some pictures with him. He was highly knowledgeable and gave us a detailed history of the family, which we highly appreciated. The setting: Ajit Bhawan is not just a palace but a whole campus or a little oasis / village in the middle of town. Despite its central location it is extremely peaceful and quiet. lots of trees and bushes and wildlife soothe the soul. We spotted many different birds, squirrels and other wildlife. The guest rooms are set next to or near the palace and you get a calming feel walking to the pool or restaurant. The whole experience is just extremely pleasant and peaceful. The room: Our room was an Ajit suite with swing. It was very spacious and pleasant with a large comfortable bed. A high powered shower and plenty of storage space, along with beautiful decor. The food: Leaving Ajit Bhawan to eat elsewhere was pure disappointment. The food at the hotel was so good that no other restaurant really came close to it. I would recommend sticking with the Indian and rajasthani dishes which were all outstanding. Not too spicy or oily. Very pleasant experience in the garden and in the restaurant. On the days it rained and we ordered room service the quality was a little more variable with some dishes but still really nicely done. Service was quite prompt and you can order cocktails from the bar to your room as well. The amenities: The pool is one of the highlights and we spent at least an hour daily in it. Both shallow and deep parts, and a ‘cave’ under the building make this an attractive experience as far as pools go. Special shout out to the pool attendant (sorry forgot your name sir!) - extremely friendly and polite, but when my 5 year old lost his toy shark in the deep part, he went all out to help look for it, swimming and diving through it several times, turning off the waterfalls and not stopping until we finally found it 15 mins later. Top class, thank you!! My wife had a relaxing massage at the spa which made her feel rejuvenated. The staff: I have rarely come across such polite and pleasant staff in hotels. We were consistently made to feel extremely welcome, each interaction was very pleasant. Staff went out of their way to help us, my son got special personalised treatment and was made to feel right at home. Reception staff were all very polite and helpful too and looked after us really well. Special shout out to the staff attached to the restaurants: Hari Singh (both old and young ), Bom Singh, the lady and everyone else whose name we forgot - thank you so much for such a pleasant and wholesome experience. The verdict: We did not want to leave to be honest, we had such a lovely stay here. My son was particularly sad about leaving. Like I said earlier, regular hotels are now ruined for us so we have no choice but to return! Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so special. Note about Jodhpur Airport: if travelling with children, make sure you pack all their toys into check-in . Security will rudely refuse to allow you to take toy dinos and other toy animals on board. They do not respond to logic and will happily make a 5 year old child cry because “other passengers may get scared of plastic dinos” and “plastic toys are not expressively allowed” apparently.

“Exceptional”

I don’t write reviews often but this hotel and their staff deserve the best of ratings. They spoil you during your stay, everything was absolutely top notch. Definitely going to stay here whenever I happen to visit Jodhpur. Everything was 10/10, I wish I could rate them higher!

This was an exceptional stay! Raj was very helpful in making my stay a comfortable one. Went above and beyond. The bhawan is delicately decorated and is absolutely neat and clean. Whole staff is courteous and immediately makes you feel at home. Thank you everyone. I’ll return!
