We just loved our stay at Taj Kumarkom. As it was our babymoon, we were already overwhelmed but the pleasant views, the hospitality and great supportive staff just made it surreal for us. Thanking the accomodation manager Mr Vinpugal, for providing is with an upgrade for room with beautiful Lotus views.. I'll cherish all the memories we made there. Thanking all the staff and Ajay, the magician, for spending enough time in capturing some most loving pictures of ours. Thank you all!! Shall visit again' for sure.

The setting was tranquil and picturesque, characterised by lush greenery and a lagoon, along the banks of Vembanad Lake. It was notably interesting as missionaries from Essex, England, originally owned it. We found it a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable, overlooking the swimming pool. It was located next to the spa and a small gym, where I consulted with Dr Akshara. She recommended four effective treatments for my back, which were carried out by two skilled therapists, resulting in notable improvements. I continue to feel the benefits and would highly recommend it. Every evening, we would sit on the charming porch outside the Bar, soaking in the delightful atmosphere while savouring our refreshingly ice-cold Kingfishers before dinner. I particularly enjoyed sitting in the rocking chair, feeling the gentle sway, and feeling such peace and contentment. The food at the buffet restaurant was of high quality, with a variety of freshly cooked eggs available for breakfast and flavourful curries served at dinner. Since I prepare my own soup at home, I especially enjoyed the Chef’s tasty soups and would have liked to obtain a couple of his recipes. The staff were respectful and kind. They handled everything with a smile, and nothing was too much trouble. While it is difficult to remember all the names, a few stood out: Gayathri, Senthilk, Smitha, Femi, Ajay, and Malu, who managed the pool and engaged my husband with her cheerful conversation. We enjoyed a wonderful last evening, thanks to the staff, who thoughtfully organised a surprise dinner for us overlooking the lagoon. They even set up speakers nearby to play our favourite music, enhancing the delightful atmosphere. We departed the following day with positive memories and would recommend it as a suitable retreat for relaxation.

The original plan was just to have a quick lunch after a lovely morning on the backwaters - none of us expected it to turn into our favourite memory from the trip! Right from the moment we arrived we felt so welcome - big smiles, welcome drinks, handmade palm garlands. Mr. Vinpugal’s genuine warmth and kindness despite our being late for our reservation, and the entire team’s hospitality soon put us at ease. Even though we were day guests we were welcomed by GM Shabad and even got a special invite to the evening chaya kada waterside experience. The chef and wait staff were world class and we sampled 9 different dishes from the amazing menu. Every single one was a hit - and the team was kind enough to pack our leftovers for us to take home! After a laid back lunch and some time walking around the property enjoying the lake and gardens we were driven by buggy to the delicious afternoon tea. Our time was made even more special with a complimentary family photograph, some magic tricks and turtle feeding! We ended the day with a spectacular sunset. A highly recommended experience with something for everyone. If you are looking to create a special memory in Kumarakkom nothing beats the original backwater resort - the Taj!
