There are 2 properties here, so be mindful while booking. Deshadan Mountain Resort is separate and The Cliff Resort is separate, may be both are managed by the same owner but just be mindful while booking. Deshadan is located on the top most point with good food and excellent service. Also Jilju at the reception is very helpful and always available. All the staff is friendly, quick and very helpful. Will surely come again. Thank you Deshadan

“Deshadan Munnar - On top of the world”

The best resort I have visited till date. Excellent location - as the name suggests, the resort is literally on top of the world. Excellent food and very courteous staff. Highly recommended for a relaxed vacation. This property is a amazing, the entire staff is very nice. Overall must go place..

This is a hidden gem and I was lucky to have found it. A last minute booking made after they had a cancellation and hence the property popped up on my late search for a hotel / resort at Munnar. Called up the reception from London and Jilju very efficiently handled my booking. I was initially a bit apprehensive as many times, the photos on the websites do not reflect the reality. However, I was pleasantly surprised and in fact, some of the photos do not do justice to the beauty of this resort. The room was very big, well equipped, and with a great, unrestricted view of the mountains. The staff were all super helpful. Room service was very prompt. The rooms were cleaned very well, fresh towels provided everyday, and amenities well stocked. Their games room is not advertised well, but it is very well stocked with multiple carrom boards, chess boards, a TT table, fussball, etc. The restaurant is reasonably priced. Don't be afraid to seek Chef Jij and tell him your requirements. I bumped into him on the first night and while chatting, told him what I fancied eating. He ensured the food was prepared as per what I had mentioned to him. The staff at the restaurant were very prompt and courteous. Breakfast was good with a mix of local and other Indian dishes. It may not seem like a vast spread, but I am happy with it. Anyways, with vast spreads, you don't eat more than 4-5 items as it is. Plus, with vast spreads, the food is the same everyday. The resort is at the top of the mountain and is spread over a large area. They also arrange a trek to the summit, which is about 2.5 hours round trip and moderately difficult. All in all, highly recommend the resort and I am glad I found it accidentally. In terms of improvements, just one point: most of the TV channels are not available. It may help to have more TV channels made available for guests.

We stayed 3 nights at this resort. At first glance, our room was lovely, clean and large with a king size bed and French doors out to a deck. We did not have a view of tea fields, rather a bit of forest. Unfortunately, the room we had (room 103) was right above the kitchen. We couldn’t go out on the deck for the smells of cooking. I was already not feeling well when we arrived but then to continually smell onions cooking and foods being fried did not help my situation. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was typically Indian breakfast, sambar, poori badgi. It was ok but it would have been nice to have some fresh fruit. There was watermelon but it had been cut up on the same board that onions had been cut on so it wasn’t very appealing. The resort is in a remote location and is far from the town. Wifi was pretty good at this resort.
