“An amazing Hotel with amazing staff!”

We stayed for two days when we visited Amritsar on our tour of India. The hotel was very comfortable and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing and very delicious so a huge THANK YOU to the chef. Would thoroughly recommend a visit!!

The Earth Amritsar is a heritage hotel housed in a historic building originally constructed over 130 years ago as the Victoria Jubilee Hospital to commemorate the 55th year of Queen Victoria’s reign. The property features grand Victorian-style architecture with high ceilings, grand arches, and sprawling gardens. The project was designed as a luxury resort. First impressions are spectacular, blending its colonial past with modern luxury. The hotel's heritage wing preserves the original 19th-century character. However, it appears that the project team lost interest as detailing has been poorly executed and finishes badly installed. Our shower leaked because the shower screen was never installed properly and the shower door doesn’t shut. The water pools in the middle of the bathroom floor because the fall was not set out correctly and has no where to drain to. The bathroom worktop is already cracked and the lack of care or maintenance gives the impression that the space is significantly more than two years old. The Earth Amritsar officially opened as a hotel on April 4, 2024. However, the restoration programme was never completed. More than half the site is unused and decaying. The New Build contemporary addition designed to complement the historical elements of the site remains a work in progress so the hotel sits between a construction site and the remains of the abandoned hospital. The hotel suffers from under occupation and food and beverage availability has been scaled back accordingly. No beer, but this was rectified, only one red and white wine, many menu options not available. The staff are excellent and try hard, but senior management needs to be replaced with a new team and given the resources to complete the project.
