If you prefer heritage-style hotels with large rooms, a garden, character and quirky decor, Ranjit’s Svaasa is your place. It is an old mansion that was converted into a hotel, still run by the family who owns the house for seven generations. It is tucked away in a more residential area, near a commercial avenue. It is quiet and its gardens and many terraces, balconies and rooftops are magical with hundreds of flower pots. The vegetable and flower garden is overseen by the owner. The rooms are large and luxurious with modern facilities in old fashion style. The breakfast, set in one garden, is diverse and delicous. There is no strong coffee but homemade jams and chutneys as well as wood-fired chapatis cooked on the patio. A tasty dinner is also served but a bit on the pricy site. A large dog has the run of the ground floor. The staff is very nice and always helpful. We had a wonderful experience and recommend it highly.

Such a beautiful oasis in the heart of bustling Amritsar, close to the major attractions, and with very friendly staff and excellent services. The rooms are cozy and full of character. Highly recommend!

Ranjit's Svaasa turned out to be a pleasant surprise. A cosy heritage boutique type of hotel, amidst the chaotic city, yet serene and homely , away from the hustle bustle of the city. The staff were great, affectionate , welcomed us with warmth. They always interacted with a pleasant positive and smiling attitude never failing to answer our queries and provide the things. The architecture and the interiors have an old world charm . Food was excellent (though we have to order in advance if we want to dine in). They communicate through whats app and sometimes thanks to the network issues we could not communicate properly. However, they made sure we get our preferred menu. We could even pick some mangoes from the small garden within the estate ! The food, environment and the staff made sure of living in a cosy home with the luxuries thrown in. However, service might be a little slow sometimes as it is a small establishment and minimal staff. Our entire trip in Amritsar was organized by our tour agent through Svaasa and it was very well coordianted . Neeraj our driver was very good , the guide Sandy, Mr Sandeep who accompanied us one day for Golden temple tour and Wagha border was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.Mr Thomas took us around for a heritage walk which was truly interesting and memorable as it helped us understand the history of the place and at the same time got a glimpse of local markets and life of people around!
