We stayed at Le Meridien Jaipur in a Premium Category Room on the first floor for a family trip, and overall, the experience was average. The property has some excellent features, but a number of maintenance and service issues prevented it from being a truly memorable stay. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and an equally impressive bathtub. One feature we particularly liked was the Bluetooth bedside audio device, which also supported wireless phone charging—a thoughtful modern touch. However, the room wasn't without flaws. The curtains were poorly maintained and quite difficult to open and close, which was surprising for a property of this category. The swimming pool area is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the resort. The poolside views are beautiful, the landscaping around it is well designed, and the adjacent lawn is well maintained. However, the changing room is located quite far from the pool. After enjoying the temperature-controlled water, having to walk through the air-conditioned spa area to change was extremely inconvenient and uncomfortable. The gym was another positive surprise. It was well equipped, and the music system created a great workout atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of options, including authentic local Rajasthani dishes. A special mention goes to Chef Jaspal, who personally prepared a customized dish for us on request, and it was absolutely delicious. It was also nice to see the chef personally serving local specialties at guests' tables, adding a warm and personalized touch. On arrival, the staff welcomed us with two different welcome drinks. While the gesture was appreciated, neither drink was particularly refreshing after a long journey. The staff throughout our stay remained courteous, polite, and eager to help. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday, and the hotel arranged a small room decoration with flower petals and leaves. While the effort was appreciated, we had expected at least a few balloons for a birthday celebration. The decoration felt quite basic and lacked the festive touch we were hoping for. Unfortunately, several recreational facilities need better maintenance. The kids' play room was disappointing, with many toys and gaming equipment either torn, damaged, or not functioning. The room itself was also quite small. The property offers complimentary bicycles, which is a nice addition, but almost every bicycle had low tyre pressure. We had to manually fill air before being able to use them. The sprawling gardens have good potential, but the grass in many areas wasn't maintained well enough to comfortably enjoy or relax there. Adventure activities such as rope courses were closed due to a brief spell of rain, which was disappointing. While safety should always come first, it was still a letdown since these activities were one of the attractions we were looking forward to. The property also features a cricket practice net, a basketball court, and other outdoor gaming areas, which are nice additions. Another inconvenience was transportation within the large property. There was only a single golf cart available for guests heading towards the lawns and activity areas, resulting in unnecessary waiting and inconvenience. The evening cultural program near the pool lawn was another area where expectations weren't quite met. The folk dance performance was average, and when we waited for the traditional puppet (Kathputli) show, we were asked to wait for another hour, which was disappointing, so we eventually left. One aspect that made us uncomfortable was that the performers seemed to expect tips after the performance. While tipping is always a personal choice, the way it was conveyed made us feel obligated, which took away from the overall enjoyment of the experience. One disappointment was the evening high tea. We had expected it to be part of the experience, but were informed that it is only available if specifically purchased or included in the package. Overall, Le Meridien Jaipur has a beautiful property, spacious rooms, excellent breakfast, courteous staff, and attractive outdoor spaces. However, inconsistent maintenance of facilities, limited guest transportation, underwhelming recreational experiences, and several small service gaps made the stay feel average rather than exceptional. With better upkeep, more attention to guest experience, and smoother execution of activities, the hotel has the potential to offer a much more memorable stay.
