Lake Pichola Hotel is an incredible place to stay. The rooms are clean and airy and well maintained. The balcony overlooking the lake is just a magic private place to just sit with a cup of tea/coffee/chai or wine. Seeing the lights come on around the lake as the sun sets is an experience in itself. The breakfast choices are amazing and cover most tastes and appetites. The flute player tootling away with Bollywood film tunes as you eat is novel and you have to stop looking for rising snakes!!! The staff service is excellent and they care about every guest. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Roger and Tilak, management staff, are two gentlemen with knowledge of Udaipur better than Google and Madan ( tall, gentle giant with huge moustache in charge of the front gate ) charges you around in an Electric Tuk Tuk like an F1 driver. Upre Restaurant on the top floor has a huge menu, great views and immaculate service. We cannot wait to return.

I have just completed 3 nights at the Lake Pichola Hotel in Udaipur. From the first moment that I entered the spacious muti colored chandeliered lobby I was enchanted. I became a princess and this would be my palace the next few days. I had a lake view room on the ground floor. Room 99 - secure it if you can. Outside the room there is a long terrace along the lake. I could go outside my room and sit and watch the lake. I did this for hours every day. I had my own small table where I could even enjoy a quiet dinner. I did have dinner there every day. The staff was wonderful, polite, helpful, smiling, attentive….one could almost say I was treated like a princess! Alas, I am homeward bound today. The Lake Pichola Hotel will always be a cherished memory for me.

“A fabulous lakeside hotel with old world charm”

We loved this heritage hotel! The rooms were comfortable. The lakeside terrace was lovely and the staff was so supportive, helpful, and friendly. We loved this heritage hotel! The rooms were comfortable. The lakeside terrace was lovely and the staff was so supportive, helpful, and friendly. The buffet breakfast was wonderful and delicious, and the rooftop restaurant served delicious food in an elegant environment. The location was excellent and if we were to return to Udaipur we definitely would stay here again. The one thing I will say that is less than ideal is that the bathrooms were surface clean, but needed some serious cleaning along the corners and edges of the shower and floors. I suspect assigning two cleaners half an hour per bathroom, would do the trick. One more thing: When choosing your room, pay extra for the lakeside view. It is totally worth it!

Great view from our private balcony. Other than that I was quite disappointed. The bathroom was quite dirty with black mould around the taps. The hotel overall felt it needed a good clean and looked tired. They do not have a bar which they show on their website and you can only book in the restaura… more

Great view from our private balcony. Other than that I was quite disappointed. The bathroom was quite dirty with black mould around the taps. The hotel overall felt it needed a good clean and looked tired. They do not have a bar which they show on their website and you can only book in the restaurant at 7pm or 9pm. After having to leave our table at 9pm there was nowhere to have another drink apart from our room. If you are a couple then you have to sit on very high barstools at a high table for dinner which we found very uncomfortable. They seemed far more interested in keeping non guests happy rather than their paying ones. Overall It’s a great shame as it could be amazing. I think they ride on the success just because of the location and nothing more.
