We had a wonderful stay at the Sadara Resort last month and enjoyed our time there very much. We had stayed at the Sadara back in 2023 and liked the hotels so much that we really looked forward to a return visit in 2026- and we were not disappointed. The hotel is built in a traditional Balinese style and has a beautiful garden in the middle between the two wings of the hotel. At the end of the garden is the hotel's lovely pool that overlooks the beach and the sea. At that end of the property you also find the hotel's excellent restaurant called Santai where breakfast and afternoon tea are served every day. There are two main categories of rooms at the Sadara: Premier rooms and Signature rooms, the former being in the north wing of the building and the latter in the south wing. It seems the Signature rooms are newly renovated. The Premier room where we stayed (#111) was very convenient, near both the restaurant and the pool area, and reasonably comfortable. The tinted windows made the room quite dark, which was a shame as the weather was so beautiful outside. The furnishings in the room were reasonable but there was nothing in the room that told me I was staying in Bali. It is a pity the hotel does not put some local artwork on the walls as Bali has such wonderful art and handicrafts. There is a bit of a problem with the desk area where a laptop could be plugged in as it was located right in front of the flat-screen TV, not particularly convenient. There were lots of outlets for devices, which was much appreciated. The desk only had a stool/ottoman to sit on, not ideal for Senior Citizens or Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) who need a proper chair or armchair with a back support if they are going to spend any time working on their laptop. The bed was comfortable and the air-con was very effective. The TV worked well but the selection of channels on offer was perhaps the worst I have ever seen in 40 years of living in Asia and staying in many hotels in many different countries. Even in the wilds of Cambodia the selection of channels was far better than at the Sadara. There were no news channels such as CNN or BBC, no entertainment channels such as AXN or TLC or any channels such as the Food Network or HGTV. The selection of channels was bizarre to say the least. For a property that charges quite a lot for their rooms, the management really needs to provide a much better international selection of channels, catering for all tastes of guests from all over the world. The bathroom was well-appointed with an excellent shower, but it took housekeeping 3 days to provide hand towels! On a more positive note, we love Santai, the hotel's restaurant. We enjoyed all our breakfasts there with their excellent choice of a la carte dishes as well as the selection of juices, fruits, breads, pastries and coffee. The dishes were all delicious and really beautifully presented. The restaurant staff were excellent- friendly and efficient, attentive to all guests and making sure that guests were enjoying their meals. We also enjoyed the complimentary Balinese afternoon tea with a selection of local sweets. It would be nice if they served the afternoon tea in the main restaurant rather than in the not very nice room upstairs near the kitchen. The main restaurant is never busy at 3 o'clock in the afternoon so there is really no reason for not allowing guests to enjoy their afternoon tea in a much nicer environment. We love the pool at the Sadara. It is a large pool and it never seemed at all busy during the 4 days we stayed in the resort. It is well designed with steps and a sturdy railing to help people in and out of the pool, important for Senior Citizens like myself and Persons With Disabilities. We enjoyed our swims in the pool at the Sadara as well as the time spent on the comfortable loungers near the pool where we had some great games of Scrabble, while enjoying the lovely views of the beach and the sea in the distance. It would be nice if the management of the hotel installed a similar sturdy railing at the main entrance of the hotel on the steps that lead up to the lobby. I had to depend on my younger partner to help me up and down those steps each time we left or entered the hotel. A railing would be much appreciated to make the hotel more user-friendly, catering for the needs of all guests. We had a wonderful stay at the Sadara Resort and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing hotel in Tanjung Benoa. There are several excellent restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the hotel on Jalan Pratama, Sukun and Bumbu Bali in particular- perfect if you don't want to have all your meals in the hotel.
