I have stayed at Bayside bungalows twice now and just booked again for next year. The rooms, staff, view, restaurant and position are all fantastic. It’s as good, or even better than the photos believe it or not and the sound of the waves crashing is a welcome constant. I am a solo traveller and have always felt safe and welcome.

“Good option if catching a ferry to the Gili islands”

Very convenient to the town and the harbour. Lovely big room, could have down with a few more power plugs, but plenty of hot water and good pressure and spotlessly clean. Our hostess brought up breakfast in the morning and was helpful and friendly. Although the room was basic, the bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed the lovely outdoor seating. A very, very good bargain option.

At first glance, the property appeared well-kept, but on closer inspection, it became evident that some maintenance was required. The bathroom showed signs of wear, with moss on the walls and patio, and several areas with rough or unfinished surfaces. The air conditioning functioned adequately, though the remote control was not always responsive. There were plenty of power outlets, but the patio lacked lighting, which made it inconvenient to sit outside and read and relax in the evenings. I stayed in a pool-view bungalow located opposite the restaurant. Unfortunately, loud music began each morning around 7 a.m. when the staff started work, making it difficult to sleep in or enjoy a peaceful start to the day. On a positive note, the housekeeping service was consistent and thorough throughout my stay. The minibar fridge was completely stocked, leaving little room for personal items. Prices were relatively high, particularly with the additional 17% tax. Drinks could easily be purchased at nearby warungs for less than a third of the price. Despite these drawbacks, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, which added a warm and welcoming touch to the overall experience.

The hotel area is nice, lots of green around. We stayed in a lovely spacious suit with pool view, food was good but nothing special (definitely recommend the restaurant across the road), stuff was friendly. The hotel area is nice, lots of green around. We stayed in a lovely spacious suit with pool view, food was good but nothing special (definitely recommend the restaurant across the road), stuff was friendly. What I didn’t like was that they cleaned the pool at 11am with a brush, the pool felt dirty all the time, there isn’t a nice beach by the hotel. Plus was a discreet removal of insects so there was none.
