“Peaceful place”

Equator was my first stay in Surabaya. I like the natural environment in this hotel. And the price was not expensive. The service is good and the servants in this hotel are nice. Many facilities are available in this hotel, like swimming pool, table tennis facility and many more.

Such a lovely hotel for the price, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Jalan Mayjend Sungkono in Surabaya but still very close to all the major areas on Surabaya. Very friendly staff most of whom speak english, beautiful gardens clean rooms and linen, carpets could do with replacing in some rooms and a repaint wouldnt go astray. Very good buffet breakfast choices. I love this place its great for the price., I have stayed here for my 5th time now and will continue to come back whenever I come to surabaya again.

This was my first stay at this hotel. The rooms are very quaint little bungalow type buildings set in a quiet grounds. Potentially the rooms could appeal to international travellers, however the carpets need changing and the bathrooms need to be freshened up and the cleaners need to pay a little more attention to cleaning around the toilet and the sink worktop. The bed was just great .. super big and comfortable. I could not get to grips with the a/c and light controller on my bedside table. On the first night after switching the lights off .. approximately 10 minutes later they came back on. The a/c seems to have a mind of it own as well. Got up at 2 am for a pee just to realise that I had to walk to the front door to re-set my entry key / electric thingy on the wall to get the lights to work. The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The swimming pool looked clean but needed new furniture and new surrounds to attract me to use it. This hotel would appeal to guest wanting a bit rough-and-ready and also on a bit of a budget but for me as a business traveller it was not suitable as I could not get reliable Wi-Fi and equally the room was not exactly a nice place to sit in and work. All said if I was on a budget and was sight seeing I would stay here.

Stayed in Equator 4 nights. Like most reviewer pointed out, this us great hotel with strategic location near Mayjend Sungkuno and yet away from the noise, lots of green in hotel surrounding. Front office is highly efficient and helpful. Room is spacious with nice designed furniture, but the carpet and toilet are dirty and smelly; water pressure is very low, shower water was actually dripping. The room is actually nice but smell terrible. Breakfast is acceptable for its price, have it near poolside, serene... can't complaint. The bar at lobby is a shame, no wine and Bintang beer run out of stocks for 2 days. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only complaint goes to house-keeping department, room was dirty and toilet bowl looks like public toilet. Overall, a nice hotel but seems run down, consider the price and room-size, still a reasonable choice.
