I recently stayed at Mercure Jakarta PIK, and overall it was a good stay with several strong points, especially for convenience. The biggest advantage of this hotel is definitely the location. It is directly connected to PIK Avenue Mall, which makes the stay very convenient and strategic. Whether for dining, quick shopping, or just walking around after work, the direct access to the mall is a major plus. As an Accor Platinum member, I was pleased to receive the usual recognition, including a room upgrade and extended late check-out until 4pm, which was especially helpful as I had a night flight. Service throughout the stay was also very good. The staff were friendly, helpful, and responsive, which made the experience smoother. The room itself was comfortable enough, but I found it a bit too dark, which is not ideal for a business stay, especially when I needed to run virtual meetings from the room. The working table was also slightly small for my setup with multiple devices, so it may feel limiting for business travellers who need more workspace. Another area that could be improved is the bathroom design. In my view, it is not very intuitive, and the shower area tends to splash water outside, which makes the layout feel less practical than it should be. My biggest disappointment, however, was the WiFi policy. The internet speed itself was acceptable, but the connection kept disconnecting and did not reconnect smoothly. More importantly, the room WiFi only allows up to four devices. This was quite inconvenient for me as I already had five devices to connect while staying alone. For family travellers, I can imagine this being even more restrictive. This is honestly the first time I have encountered such a device limit after staying in many hotels. To be fair, the staff did try to help by offering a temporary WiFi code for additional access, but since it only worked for a few hours, it was still inconvenient. The gym was decent and usable, with a fair range of equipment, but one of the treadmills clearly needs recalibration because the speed felt inaccurate. On the positive side, the gym space itself was bright and pleasant enough for a workout. I also appreciated the daily refilled minibar/fridge, which was a nice touch, and the in-room coffee machine was another plus. Having two capsules replenished every day made the stay more comfortable, especially for early mornings. Overall, Mercure Jakarta PIK offers a very convenient location, friendly staff, and a generally pleasant stay, but there are some practical issues that should be improved, especially the WiFi device limit, room lighting, and bathroom functionality. With those addressed, the experience would be much better for business travellers.
