Well, Seven Secrets by Hanging Gardens, what a find! As we drove through Lombok from the airport not knowing what we would find, arriving at Secret Gardens we realised we had found a hidden oasis! We wanted a few days away from Bali and the beautiful sandy beach lines with coconut trees with the gentle surf and so quiet near the end of wet season was just perfect for our honeymoon. The resort, accommodation, food and service were all brilliant and I promise I am not getting paid to say this but praise where it is due! The attention to detail in the room design, the beach front dining with every meal in the sand if you wanted was just the relaxed vibe we were after. The food from the kitchen was really very high quality and the breadth of the menu excellent considering the few people who there because of wet season. Great pool area and bar. Very nice people and management and they respected your privacy. Bravo well done, take a bow! Now interested to see Hanging Gardens in Bali given this lovely experience.

“Beautiful Resort”

This review is a bit overdue as we left over three weeks ago but only arrived home a few days ago. Mixed feelings prevail about leaving a review as we are not sure we want to share our experience with this exceptional resort for fear it might bring to many new vacationers. But as other reviewers have posted it has a well deserved reputation already. We were there for 10 days in the 'rainy season' and literally had the place to ourselves most of the time. Yes it rained, occasionally, but for the most part as others know, the rain can be intense but short lived. Weather is still hot and sunny most of the time or was for us anyway. The resort pictures on-line depict pretty much how the resort looks. Bright, clean, right on the beach, beautiful rooms, great food and excellent staff. Service was incredible. We are not sure why more don't visit at this time of year (Feb). Our Oceanview Room was bright and spotless. One cleaning and a turndown each day. Outdoor shower was excellent as was the large bathroom. The large covered deck was lovely with a clear view over looking the pool right to the beach. We did not take advantage of the hot tub our deck as we really had no need to but it is definitely a nice touch. The breakfasts were top notch as were the dinners and the chef was most accommodating in allowing 'tweaks' to some of our meals. Much appreciated. The large infinity pool was absolutely spotless and squeaky clean and clear (and warm); the staff did an excellent job keeping it that way everyday. And there is a swim up bar. The sandy beach is another 50 feet away. There can be bits of coral at the edge of the waterline but water shoes kept us comfortable till we got to the sand again a few feet further out. The dining area that we used is small but that is because there were few guests. The main dining room is used when it is busier but what we had was right on the beach with the option of being in the open on the beach or undercover a few feet back for the times it rained. Very nice dining area. And they had a fire on the beach almost every night. A nice touch. The gym is well equipped and has a couple unique machines we'd never seen before - sort of to shake and loosen you up!! And of course nothing that any resort wants to be cannot be done without staff that are dedicated to making it that way. In this case - exceptional. We met Hanny, the resort manager. It was easy to tell how much she loves the resort and how much she cares for the staff. She wants to make everyone's visit there special. And from talking to the staff they feel their efforts are don't go unnoticed. The resort is relatively small, 24 units, but all are spacious and all have either views of the inner 'garden' area or of the ocean. The grounds are well kept. If you prefer a larger resort with more variety and amenities this may not be for you. But if you are looking for a newer well maintained place with great food, decent amenities, service and access to the water this is it. The road in from the highway is a little 'rustic' but not as bad as some, but don't let that deter you. It;s only a couple hundred yards long. One note though, Seven Secrets is not in 'town' area. Sengiggi is about 30 minutes away to get to ATMs, groceries, etc. Mataram, the major city on Lombok, is another 20 mins. We had a motorcycle which allowed us to travel as we needed and we did do a fair amount of touring. Traffic is no where near as heavy as Bali, but narrow roads and steady traffic can make it interesting - and you are on the left side of the road when driving. A great place to stay and is highly recommended. Special thanks to Edi, Wan, Komang, Alma, Fido, Dewa, Sultan and Ari. You were all terrific and so accommodating. “Excellent Boutique Hotk in Lombok”

If you’re in Lombok, you need to stay in this boutique hotel. The staff, rooms, food, pool, beach and atmosphere are beyond expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel. 12 out of 10

Wonderful family stay for four days! We were welcomed by a lovely, smiling, and caring staff who were always attentive. They constantly checked if we were doing well and if we were comfortable. The meals were absolutely delicious, with a stunning view of the lagoon. Breakfasts were generous, tasty, and refined — fresh fruit juices, a variety of fruits, everything was just perfect. The rooms were spacious and spotless. Housekeeping was done every day — beds made, towels changed. The pool was beautiful, and there were plenty of activities nearby, like snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. There are also great surf spots just ten minutes from the hotel. The place is peaceful and bright — truly one of the most beautiful places in Lombok, if not in the world. I highly recommend it for families, friends, or even for a wedding celebration. We were sad to leave and truly hope to come back one day.
