I've just come back from my second trip to Lisdoonvarna and staying at the ‘Imperial Hotel' I felt like a Homecoming Queen as Vanessa and others members of the reception team /staff remembered me from last year. The lovely warm welcome and friendliness mirrors the Festival which is very much part of the hotel, as Willie Daly the 3rd generation matchmaker has his 'office' in the 'Matchmakers Bar' located in the hotel. Although I also really like other hotels in Lisdoonvarna, such as 'The Hydro', which also has great entertainment, when you're at the Imperial you know you're at the very heart of things. One of the amazing exterior murals is marked 'Marriages are made in Heaven, but most people meet in the 'Matchmaker Bar'. You can meet Willie Daly the legendry and world famous 3rd generation matchmaker every evening in the Imperial's hotel bar. If you prefer to speak to a woman about affairs of the heart, you can also meet his lovely daughters Elsha or Marie who have inherited Willie’s kindness and intuition for matchmaking. Henry, his son also matchmakes and like his daughters you can see he also definitely has 'the knack'. Outside the hotel there is plenty to see, fantastic bars and hotels, the historic SpaWells ballroom where dances starts at 12h00 each day and the spectacular Cliffs of Mohar, designated as a UNESCO site, are just a short 10km drive away and should not be missed, even if it’s difficult to leave the festivities. The hotel was impeccably clean and warm and tea, coffee and a kettle are provided in all the rooms. The table service breakfast from 8-10 is absolutely delicious and copious and the service is excellent. As we were leaving at 7am on Sunday the Moldavian and Croatian security men were in top form and gallantly carried our suitcases to the car. From arrival to departure 'The Imperial' hotel was just perfect and provided a 5/5 service in every way. Bravo! Patricia Killeen - Paris

I booked The Imperial Hotel for 32 ppl but upon arrival we all were brought to The Imperial Lodge down the street. I would of definitely liked to know this in advance. The place Is definitely a little outdated but was adequate. The first night the bar was open and packed and loud till 2.30am but that's the case all over Lisdoonvarna on a Saturday night in September. Sunday night the bar didn't open and we were a bit disappointed at first but ended up having our own private party in the lobby and had a wonderful night. Marvin who was working the reception took great care of us and was very hospitable. Also Adam when he came on was great too. Overall a great stay and definitely some interesting people watching there.

We were made very welcome at this hotel where we stayed for 3 nights.The room was clean and comfortable .Food was very good and there was a different menu choice each evening , breakfast excellent choice on the menu.All meals were served to the table there was no buffet.Was very busy with coach parties.There was a nice bar at the other end of the hotel and there was live Irish music and dancers each evening.A nice little town with a couple of shops but lots of pubs and hotels.
