What a fabulous hotel! We booked last minute and it was reasonably priced. The hotel is right next to the train station and the city centre is just a short walk from here. The room we had was fantastic. The bed was super comfy and the room facilities first class! It’s quite a contemporary hotel with a great atmosphere. I loved it! Take your passwords for Netflix and Prime to stick on the huge TV in the room and you’re laughing! There is a gorgeous bar in the reception area and it’s got a really trendy and modern vibe. There was a DJ playing in the lobby / bar area but it was a bit loud and so we took our drinks to the room in the evening as it would have been difficult to hold a conversation with the music going, but we are both in our 50s so if you are younger it’ll not bother you. There is a pool and spa here but we did not use these facilities. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat as I thought it was an amazing place to stay. Breakfast was not included for us but there are places you can frequent within a short distance if you do not want to pay the rather inflated breakfast prices, but the menu did look great. I’d say it’s quite a luxurious hotel catering for the higher end clientele. It’s not far from the airport and there is a bus service to the hotel from the train station next door. I’m sure you’d love this place as I did. My only gripe is that 3 days later I’ve still not received my €100 room deposit back, but I’m sure it’s on its way.

First the hotel is nice and modern, the bar is on the first floor and on weekends and holidays it is very lively and a younger crowd. The rooms are nice, but they are small. We were doing a 10 day drive around Ireland so we had some bags and there is no place to store them and there is little room between the bed and wall. Be warned and there are several notices in the room, the snacks and alcohol in the room are NOT free. Lastly, parking; there is no hotel parking, we parked in the train station parking lot next door.

Do not be fooled by the beautiful entrance and the facade. This is well overpriced and should not be a 4 star hotel. I checked reviews both on here and Booking.com before I booked and thought I was in for a nice stay. How wrong was I? The bed was shocking, the mattress was so old and there was absolutely no support. I sank right into it and it was so uncomfortable. I barely slept on both nights. The girl at reception was helpful, and did offer to move me rooms but it meant also moving my stuff in the fridge and I declined, as I was out all day and I had no time to repack etc. I had read a message somewhere from the hotel where they said they had replaced all the mattresses, but this was not the case as I discovered. My floor, the 3rd one hadn't had any mattresses replaced at all yet but I hope they do this soon. My pillows were also stained. My room was 314 if you want to avoid this until the mattress is replaced. They also take a 100 euro deposit from you which I think is unnecessary. There is also no safe in the room, ,which I found bizarre - I think this should just be standard in every hotel. Overall, I had a great trip in Cork, Cobh and Kinsale. The hotel is in a great location with a train and bus station right beside it. Another criticism is there is building construction taking place immediately opposite the hotel and the workmen come to the hotel for their break/lunch. That is fine, but not when they put their filthy workboots on the hotel chairs which guests also use!
