“Best way to spend your holiday!”

The hotel is very clean and the personal very helpful. It was a plesant stay at this hotel! The rooms are clean and have big space and well coverd with all you need for a 4* hotel. I recomand this hotel for a family holiday.

I stayed in Hotel ambassador for 2 months with my fellow students. It was a very good hotel with very friendly and professional staff. The waiters especially Francesco was the best person. I recommend everyone visiting that hotel

“Good, almost very good but could be so so much better”

My wife and I stayed here the last 2 weeks in June..Tortoreto Lido is a small town stretching for 2 to 3 kilometres along the Adriatic coast, The hotel is at the end of this stretch.Most of the few shops are situated in the centre which takes all of 2 mins to walk around.The bus which runs from outside the hotel into the centre is hourly and invariably late.so if your mobility is poor this is not the place for you. A car is not necessary but advisable and will allow you to visit the small towns along this coast and some of their hilltop villages.Decent restaurants are few and far between as are cashpoint facilities and although these issues are no fault of the hotel they may be relevant to travellers staying there. Our stay was like the curate's egg.So starting with the not so good,on arrival we were advised ,that should we wish sunbeds for the hotel's private beach it would be 6 Euro per personr per day so a possible further Euro 168 for our stay, My wife angrily declined their offer and had we taken it we would have lost out on 4 days on which the wind was so severe that the beach was virtually out. of bounds..Surely it would make more sense to incorporate this cost in the total offer price. Most hotels offer beach towel hire, however not The Ambassador,but you can purchase them for 34Euro per couple,likewise most 4 star hotels offer complementary tea and coffee again not in The Ambassador,the tea and coffee is accompanied by a price list. The table tennis at the pool area charges for bat hire! The breakfast area has an outside balconied area where you can enjoy the sun and the sea view whilst, breakfasting, however the breeze from the sea blows the table cloths in on the food and ,after a couple of days it becomes very annoying, and could be remedied by table clips. The above issues are petty but irritating and could be simply addressed. There is an "An American Bar" specialising in"Cocktails" and nightly musical entertainment. It looks classy but there the illusion ends. The service is dreadful,I waited 25 mins for 2 drinks ,not because there was a large queue simply the barman , though trying his best was simply incapable of running this type of bar and having had40 yrs experience in the licensing trade I think I can say that authoritatively..To further detract from the desired effect half of the seating is taken up by young children as the entertainment incorporates "Children's Activities" until 22.30. Not really appropriate for adult evening relaxation. No wonder so few drinks were on the tables..Getting served in the elegantly designed main bar is not without difficulty as it is unattended apart from immediately after lunch and dinner and is mainly occupied by card playing septuagenarians,The lack of toilet facilities around the poolside area is problematic as it means walking through the bar and reception area to access toilets . This could be easily rectified as there is a small outside gymnasium area adjacent to the pool and not once in our 14days did we see anyone use it (perhaps because of the age of the clientele). This would be more in keeping with the standard of the hotel) On the positive side our room and bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean as was.the high standard of cleanliness throughout., towels and bedding changed daily. A The cleaning staff are 100% on top of their tasks. The poolside area spotlessly clean, comfortable and relaxing with ample seating and sunbeds.but again let down by lack of poolside or bar service.Dinner was very good, 4 courses|; a very extensive cold buffet,choice of first course i.e pasta or seafood or delicious regional soups, main course choice of meat fish or vegetarian and to finish a delicious lavish desert buffet.Breakfast was standard,,plentiful but not imaginative.The elegant dining room was complimented by the excellent waiting staff who were polite friendly and efficient welcoming you each night. a special thanks to the maitre d' and to our allocated waiter,Meerko the Juve supporter, thanks also to Irina at reception. In conclusion I hope this review doesn't seem too negative as The Ambassador has so many good qualities; the calibre of the food,the tasteful decor, the comfort of the room and the detailed attentiveness of the staff.This hotel is good ,almost very good but could be so so much better but the lack of attention to detail and seemingly parsimoniousness detracts from the overall enjoyment and lack of thought creates lack of atmosphere. The management must realise the potential that exists for The Ambassador to become a truly excellent hotel
