I stayed at Hotel Olimpia in Cortina d’Ampezzo and I’d give it a solid 4/5. Even though it’s a 3-star hotel, the service, location, and overall value for the price make it absolutely worth it. The renovated rooms are great — modern, comfortable, and well designed. Yes, they’re on the smaller side, but they have everything you need and feel fresh and updated. The breakfast deserves a special mention: excellent quality, just the right variety, and perfect fuel for skiing in winter or hiking in summer. Massimo at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful. We had a small electrical issue in our room and he helped us solve it quickly, which we really appreciated. Parking can fill up fast, but honestly it wasn’t as difficult as it sounds to find parking nearby in town. The location is one of the biggest highlights — you’re just steps away from some of the best bars, restaurants, and shops in Cortina. On weekend nights it can get a bit noisy because of the bars downstairs, but nothing too bad. Overall, I highly recommend it for the price-to-quality ratio. For skiing, you’re about a 5-minute walk to the ski bus stop (which gets you easily to Tofana — my favorite ski area in Cortina), and you can also reach another nearby chairlift just by walking.

“Disappointing rooms and service”

We are currently staying in this property .This is our second stay at this hotel. We are a group of six mountain bikers and chose to return because of the excellent experience we had last year. On our previous visit, the staff were extremely accommodating and arranged secure storage for our bikes, which was one of the main reasons we decided to book again. Unfortunately, this year's experience has been very different. We have been charged for parking this time, whereas parking was complimentary during our last stay. The bike storage we've been allocated is the smallest space available and is not really suitable for a group of six with multiple bikes. Our rooms are also in a very poor location. My room overlooks the backyard and bin storage area, and I've been woken every morning by the noise of the bins being emptied. It has made for a far less enjoyable and restful stay. There have also been several other smaller issues throughout our visit which, while not major on their own, have all contributed to a disappointing overall experience. It's a real shame because we genuinely enjoyed our stay last year and were looking forward to returning. Sadly, this visit has not lived up to our previous experience, and as things stand, we don't think we'll be returning next year.
