My husband and I both stated that this is one of our favorite hotels we have ever stayed at. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, our experience was remarkable due to the amazing staff and thoughtful details integrated throughout the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable with fantastic views, and the hotel was so clean throughout. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, and it was a perfect way to fuel for a morning of hiking/recreation. The pool and sauna amenities provided a relaxing way to unwind in the afternoon! The snack hour and apertivo with Nicola was also such a highlight during our stay! The location was also amazing, and we were walking distance to everything. We cannot wait to return.

My husband and I stayed here for a one-week summer hiking vacation. It was wonderful. The staff (reception, dining room, cleaners, bar tender, spa workers) are friendly, caring and helpful. The room was very comfortable, and they switched our bed cover from a duvet to a light blanket at our request, as it was so hot. (No air conditioning.) Food was excellent, we arranged half board. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous. The evening meal was a four-course offering at least two choices each. The location is central. The indoor-outdoor pool and detached sauna were a pleasure. All at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Our experience at Hotel Angelo Engel was nothing short of outstanding. The room was clean, roomy and had a great view. More important, the staff was fantastic - they took all of the time needed to help us with ideas on where to go, where to eat, what to see, and how to get the appropriate passes and tickets. The facilities are beautiful, in particular the outdoor areas - lots of different spaces to sit and soak up the sun. If you value minimizing travel time to get to what you want to do, the location couldn't be better. With three gondola/funicular connections within walking distance, you can get to several very different hiking areas within minutes. And finally, "downtown" is litterally a short walk away. A truly great experience - definitely worth it.

Our family absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Angelo Engel, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip to the Dolomites. While the hotel isn’t specifically designed as a family resort, they were incredibly welcoming and accommodating to our young children, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The property itself is beautiful—peaceful, impeccably maintained, and perfectly located within easy walking distance of the center of Ortisei while still feeling like a relaxing retreat. The half-board option was one of the best decisions we made. Breakfast offered a wonderful variety each morning, and every evening dinner was exceptional. The quality, presentation, and creativity of the food exceeded our expectations. It genuinely felt like dining at a fine restaurant every night. A special thank you to Nick at the bar, who quickly became one of our favorite people at the hotel. His cocktails were outstanding, and his recommendations for both drinks and local wines were always perfect. He made every evening feel special. The true standout, however, was Georg, the hotel’s hiking guide. Before we even hit the trails, he helped us plan our days so we could make the most of our time in the Dolomites. We joined one of his guided hikes, which was absolutely incredible, and thanks to his recommendations we also experienced the unforgettable alpine barbecue hike—a memory our entire family will cherish. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine passion for the mountains elevated our trip far beyond what we could have planned on our own. As a mom traveling with young children, I can confidently recommend Hotel Angelo Engel to other families looking for a peaceful, authentic Dolomites experience. The combination of outstanding hospitality, incredible food, beautiful surroundings, and access to unforgettable hiking adventures made this one of our favorite vacations ever. We left already talking about when we can come back, and we truly hope it will be in the very near future.
