A bit hard to find the building, given that it is on a very narrow road that goes upward from the main two-lane road that goes into the village. It is on the right side of the narrow road towards the top and just below a small square. According to the wife in the couple, who own and operate the "hotel", the building was originally a family home, owned by the mother of the wife in the couple. The couple then arranged and may have performed in part themselves, the renovation of the building to create the rental apartments. The wife in the couple did the interior design for the rooms. The design is excellent. The renovation is excellent. The apartment we occupy is spotless and exceptionally comfortable. One item that is important to note is that the building is also the home of the couple who own the building and operate the "hotel". That fact was not clear to us both when we made the reservation and when we arrived, so it caused an initial unfortunate misunderstanding between us and the husband of the couple. We arrived at about 3:15pm (15.15) on a Sunday afternoon after a somewhat long and trying drive from the base of il Lago di Garda. That time was within a few minutes of the time that we had indicated that we would arrive. I entered the building, the front door to which was open, then walked up the stairs. I noted that "reception" starts at 4pm, so I proceeded to the top floor, where our reservation indicated that we would stay. The doors to two apartments on the floor were open, so I glanced inside them, then discovered the apartment apparently assigned to us (two beds), took a quick look, then went downstairs to inform my wife and daughter. Unfortunately the husband acted inappropriately first to my wife in my absence when she and my daughter brought their luggage into the ground floor of the building, then to me, after she alerted me that he had offended her. I became immediately angry at his insults and poor behavior when I spoke to him, so I responded in kind. Thus not good, but these things happen some times. Fortunately, his wife soon arrived from downstairs. She apparently has responsibility for "reception", rather than the husband. The misunderstanding was cleared up, but for a few minutes it concerned me enough to wonder whether the "hotel" was the right place to stay due to the husband's behavior, despite the fact that the accommodations are beautiful. Initial impressions, needless to say, are lasting impressions, thus the cause for my poor assessment of "service". And this despite the fact that the wife in the couple accommodated us, even though we offered to wait until the "official" opening of "reception" at 4pm (16.00). Thus, any guests should be sure to understand, given the fact that the owners live in the building, have three young children and so on, that it is crucial to arrive at or after the 4pm (16.00) opening time for receiving guests to avoid the incident that we experienced. Otherwise, outstanding accommodations, beautiful views and a fantastic setting.

Three different issues make Mason La Zondra great: Location, the appartments themselves, and the owners. Mason La Zondra is tucked slightly away from Vigo di Fassa's center, so it's convenient to everything (shops, supermarkets,and restaurants, the funivia) but quiet. And Vigo di Fassa itself is in the center of the spectacular val di Fassa, with breathtaking mountain views, hikes and climbs for every taste and level, a distinctive local culture, food to die for, and I could go on and on. We bought the 6-day lift pass (which, at €179 for a family of four, may seem expensive), but we enjoyed it thoroughly. We learned to go early (at around 9.00) to avoid the noon crowds, and some of the hikes were relatively solitary. Note that the Ciampedie funivia is a 5-min walk from Mason la Zondra, and we even hiked to the Buffaure-Valvacin lifts in Pozza, by the panoramic Troi de Ladins trail. We had the Sangon appartment, and we concluded that it would make a perfect vacation home for us. At 75 sq.m., it felt spacious, modern, and clean. The kitchen was almost (we just missed a microwave and a toaster) fully equipped. Last but not least, the owners ("hosts" describes them better), Iris and Manuel, make you feel at home (after all, they live in one of the appartments). They are available to respond to the most minute of your concerns, or to address your needs. They are extremely friendly. A rivederci, Iris e Manuel!

“Great rooms and views”

We're staying here for 2 nights and love it..the rooms are brand new looking, renovated and very spacious. Everything is clean, kitchen is clean and we'll laid out. The prices are reasonable. Bathroom is updated with nice shower. Quiet area.

The hotel was very comfortable, the rooms were roomy and warm. There is a ski room where you can leave your skis at the end of the day, in this room there are also ski boot warmers!! The hotel was very comfortable, the rooms were roomy and warm. There is a ski room where you can leave your skis at the end of the day, in this room there are also ski boot warmers!! The only flaws are that the breakfast was limited, there isn't a lot of variety of food. And also in our room the key would never insert correctly so we wouldn't have light in our room.
