Booked Junior Suite 403 for Valentine's Day, directly from the property's website which guaranteed the best price. We received perfect telephone assistance immediately, proceeding with the quick booking and organizing an aperitif at the Hotel Sant'Orso, with live music and dinner at the Cave de Cogne. The welcome was warm and professional and made us feel at home straight away, in everything, including parking. Booked private SPA, which is complete, welcoming and clean. The experience at Sant'Orso with an informal and classy aperitif with live music from the group at The Lodge Bar created the perfect atmosphere for dinner at the Cave de Cogne, an excellent wine bar and tavern, as well as a cellar. The room is warm, welcoming, spotlessly clean and equipped with every comfort, in addition to the classic 3 Star, rare price/quality ratio. Mr. Giovanni at the reception is a professional, helpful and friendly contact for every need, he assisted us from the first phone call. An experience to be relived and perfect in every respect, I recommend it for the friendliness, the smile of the staff and the harmony of the entire organization. Cogne is wonderful and worth repeating, both in winter and summer for all the possibilities it offers.

“Gorgeous traditional hotel”

We spent 4 nights here for a 3 day skiing trip. It is the perfect traditional hotel. Really cute but not at all naff. The reception staff were consistently pleasant and helpful. They also rustled up a kettle for our room (which only had a coffee machine) which made me extremely happy. The bar and breakfast room are nice but it is the spa that is the real scene stealer. It's the perfect, relaxing and unique environment. That said the sauna was too hot on 3 of the days I tried it (and I like them hot!) and the steam room often too cold to stay in. But sitting in the jacuzzi was perfect. And just what you want after a day of skiing. They didn't quite understand what a vegan might like for breakfast. I do appreciate it's the mountains and veganism really isn't common here. They kindly kept bringing me gluten free crackers but the bread was absolutely fine for me. I bought my own diary free margarine and kept it in our mini bar fridge. We were upgraded to a suite which was really lovely and quirky. It was nicely decorated with a mix of high end modern fittings and traditional furniture. My only grumble was about the raindrop shower. They are no good if want to keep your hair dry!

The Grand Paradis has an eclectic, yet grown-up, Alpine style. The room we had - a friend and I shared a twin room - was spacious and very comfortable. The mattress and pillows were particularly good. The hotel consists of two buildings that are joined, underground, by an intriguing tunnel. There is a bike room and a ski room that are accessible via the rear garden of the place. The staff are very friendly and the furniture etc of high quality. The hotel is part of a group of hospitality businesses in Cogne and residency at the hotel gets a 10% discount in the other venues. On checking in the hotel gives you a pass that provides free parking in most of the car parks in Cogne - note in this regard that in our experience the only effective way to reach Cogne for a skiing holiday is by car from the airports in Turin or Milan. The hotel does not have an evening restaurant but there are plenty of other eating options in Cogne so this does not really matter very much. The choice of drinks in the small hotel bar is a touch limited, but again there are other options a short walk away so this is not a problem either. The proprietor is an Italian gentleman of the old school, and his little dog is more or less the most adorable I have ever met.

“A beautiful character hotel in the heart of Cogne”

Very friendly staff, clean room, good buffet breakfast. The only negative point is that the ‘free wifi’ only really worked for us in the reception area, it was almost non existent in our room and when able to connect was so slow it wasn’t worth having!
