This is the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Loved the historic aspects of the hotel, the original art in the restaurant and bar area, but also enjoyed the modern rooms. I have stayed at both the superior and standard rooms and definitely enjoyed the bigger size of the superior room. The hotel is in a very central, chic location in Bergamo, very convenient for shopping and few minutes walk to the citta alta bus stop. I think I have found my favorite hotel in my favorite Italian city!

“Beautiful, small prayer needed”

Beautiful old monastery with stunning features, check in was good at 2am. Our rooms 326 and 328 were great. Beautiful old monastery with stunning features, check in was good at 2am. Our rooms 326 and 328 were great. Lift to 2nd floor from reception and well equipped rooms (remember it’s 4* Italy) We were very pleased with the beautiful hotel, the location, quiet rooms, comfortable beds, bathrooms etc. we were a family of mother, daughter and Grandaughter accross two rooms that were adjacent. 88,57 and 30. Bar was beautiful. Evening meal was lovely and we enjoyed the options of primi (small starter) which was great for mams smaller appetite. Our only disappointment throughout our stay was the coffee at breakfast. Sounds petty but it was ridiculous and so easy to solve. It became infuriating!! I did complain and said I wouldn’t turn to social media but after reading the same complaint going back years it seems they don’t want to listen or improve. The position of the coffee machine means people are queuing in front of the breakfast options. The pot of filter coffee which they are slow to replenish does not have cups beside it?? The breakfast room doesn’t flow. This is such an easy fix! Four star but could quickly be 5* - a Bonjourno from breakfast staff would be better than the pure misery we experienced. Would I return? Absolutely. But if I return I will choose to have breakfast elsewhere. Advice, mystery shop yourselves…. Buy some stainless steel jugs to put coffee on tables. Remove some tables in the breakfast room and use the overspill. Follow examples from other European hotels that work. Stop being defensive as if you don’t have a problem. You do!! We love this hotel , you can improve.

Beautiful hotel and whilst we were out most of each day on return it was quiet sanctuary . The rooms are beautiful appointed then linen and towels were of good quality , my only feedback on the rooms were the very firm mattresses which left me in pain and in need of an anti inflammatory in the morn… more

Beautiful hotel and whilst we were out most of each day on return it was quiet sanctuary . The rooms are beautiful appointed then linen and towels were of good quality , my only feedback on the rooms were the very firm mattresses which left me in pain and in need of an anti inflammatory in the morning but after a hot shower and a lovely breakfast I was all good . We stayed 3 nights and I wouldn’t have liked to stay any longer because of the beds . I didn’t use the spa as I forgot to bring a bather but we were they for the Italy v NI match so had plenty to do catching up with the #GAWA . I have in the past asked for a mattress topper which can help but never really got round to it but wish I had ( but don’t know if they have them ) …… I’m now in Genoa thankfully the bed here is fab . Im a fairly fit 60 yrs old with discs removed in my back so this may not affect most of your clients. We will be back and would happily stay at this gorgeous hotel . The breakfast was plenty full and the whole hotel staff were delightful .

Palazzo Santo Spirito is a beautifully renovated former monastery in central Bergamo Unfortunately, while the building has transitioned into a four-star hotel, some of the staff seem to be maintaining a strict medieval 'vow of indifference' and lack the expected 'charm' you would come to expect. The bar manager, in particular, deserves a special award for drama. When I committed the mortal sin of asking for a corkscrew, I wasn't given the essential tool, I was given a lecture instead! Apparently, my request was "bad for him" (and his business)! It was a shame; a simple "no" would have sufficed, but I suppose he felt I needed the spiritual correction! The lack of hospitality continued into the night when our AC decided to stay on indefinitely. Since the room phone was as dead as the monks of yore, I had to walk to reception, not once, but twice. On my second visit, the receptionist belatedly informed me that the system takes about ten minutes to be switched off. I can only assume she omitted this detail the first time to help me hit my daily step goal for the day! As for the room, the shower’s water pressure was more of a 'gentle wimper' than a spray, and we were initially greeted by a drain smell that would have made a 14th-century plague doctor wince. There was also a mysterious, discoloured cord hanging in the bathroom. Its purpose remains a total enigma—is it for emergencies, or just a vintage relic left over from the reformation? Beautiful building? Absolutely. But be prepared to do plenty of penance for the crime of being a guest.
