“Lovely lake location”

Really lovely hotel. Fabulous room overlooking Lake Garda in a very convenient location. There is building work going on next door but rooms at the room aren’t affected. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for a week in July and loved everything about this hotel. It has a cosy feel, while being very modern inside. Great breakfast selection, friendly staff, fresh towels every day and by the pool. Good gym, lovely beach (pebbly) with a cafe and restaurant. Perfect location, 2-minute walk to a mini mart and 5-minute walk into town, along the lake. The restaurant - which we didn't go to - is one of the highest rated in Desenzano. Good live music on Saturday night (til 11.30pm) and jazz saxophonist to accompany breakfast on Sunday. Only negative is that there are currently major building works next door, so there's some noise during weekdays and the view is somewhat obscured by scaffolding. But you can avoid it by going to the beach instead.

Let me start with the staff. I cannot commend them highly enough. Frederica and Katia were so professional, kind and helpful. But every person working there made a real effort and we were grateful to them. Not least because there were building works going on next door to the hotel (absolutely nothing to do with the hotel). The staff made an extra effort to help organise trips or get us deckchairs on the nearby beach. The breakfast was incredible. Fresh juices, ice cream (you're on holiday, so it's allowed), and smoked salmon to name but three. There was a well kitted out gym which we used a lot (remember those ice cream breakfasts...). The rooms were great. Super cold air conditioning when needed, and cleaned really nicely by the staff when asked. I would say the biggest niggle was the pool - a little on the small side. If you want somewhere to do some actual swimming, then this isn't the place for you. You could of course wander over the road and swim in the lake. My elderly father was also disappointed that there was no handrail to get in and out. The town of Desenzano was lovely, and we were so glad not to have hired a car. It was a very easy 10 minute stroll each night along the lake up to the bustling restaurants and gelaterias (yep, more ice cream). And there are so many great pizza places, We recommend Pizzaeria San Benedetto (not by the lake but superb) and Pizza Cartapaglia. Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful stay at this hotel. We were very pleased with every aspect. The building works were very noisy on occasion but this did not affect our stay here and this was only during the daytime. We were not advised about the building works, which would have been beneficial but it would equally, not have changed our decision to stay here. The builders worked long hours and were respectful of the pool vicinity which is all you can ask for. The evening drinks on the bar terrace were especially good, with complimentary snacks brought to you and always friendly, helpful service. The pool is well kept and no rush for sunbeds even in peak season. Pool service for drinks and food was excellent and the lunch menu was really good. There are plenty of brilliant restaurants in short walking distance and the breakfast here at Villa Rosa was one of the best we have had in Italy. Plenty of choice and lots of fresh produce. Catering for dairy and gluten free which was brilliant. Rooms are very comfy, kept really clean and have everything you need. We will 100% be returning to this hotel.
