We booked a couple of days in advance via venere.com. Never been in Agropoli before. It was a little tricky to find the hotel, but we were assisted by friendly people who guided us by car through the one-way streets. The place is run by Tony and his family. We actually got a small apartment with 2 rooms + bathroom. Everything was newly refurbished and kept a high standard, especially the bed was very good and not too hard/firm. The town is full of people at night and the location of Scotillo, just 100 meter from city center and 100 meter from the beach, was perfectly loated. Also having free access to a spacy private parking site was ahuge advantage! In the evening we could sit in the very quiet garden of the villa, very much undisturbed. Tony is a likeable and social guy and also an important reason for the very pleasant stay at Villa Scotillo. As a bonus, the price for a room is very favourable and only 50 % of what you could expect in other areas of Italy. We would love to come back !

“Very relaxing and Italian”

We enjoyed ten days of B&B in a very relaxing atmosphere. The room was spacious with a balcony where we enjoyed sitting and reading. We enjoyed ten days of B&B in a very relaxing atmosphere. The room was spacious with a balcony where we enjoyed sitting and reading. Our host was very welcoming and his wife made wonderful cakes and croissants for breakfast. The town was a few minutes walk away with a good choice of restaurants and good bathing. Don't rely on the erratic bus service! And don't try to walk from Santa Maria back to Agropoli without a detailed map!

Good central location for Agripoli. The rooms were very clean and with good heating, and there was a good sized private car parking area. It was a small place with, I think, 4 rooms in total. We were there for 4 nights. However, the first room we were in was rather like a converted basement and gloomy (one small window) so we asked to move rooms which we were able to do after two nights - the second room was far nicer. There were two other empty rooms when we arrived but we were told that these were reserved for a family group as they were next to each other! (That feeling that you have drawn the shorter straw - we had booked back in September.) It was rather an odd set-up in that the proprietor was not on site and there was no office and no breakfast/ dining room. He was around in the morning when breakfast was being served (brought to our room, or you could sit outside) but if we had needed to speak to him outside this time we would have had to phone his mobile. Not ideal. Also, breakfast was pretty poor - luke warm coffee and generally a couple of odd home made pastries that were not to our taste. There was no choice, and no fruit or juice. Luckily the shops were close by for extra provisions! I think that if we had been given the nicer room to start with, we would have been much happier overall. I would recommend for a spring/ summer stay.
