My wife and I stayed at two different apartments on three separate occasions while traveling around Italy in September. We started in Bologna and traveled to Croatia, Tuscany and Lake Como while using Bologna as our "base camp", and everything worked out seamlessly thanks in large part to Residenza Ariosta (aka Studio Vita Apartments), who made the entire adventure easy and fun. I can't say enough good things about the convenience and service they provided, and the prices of the units were considerably less by booking directly through them rather than using any of the popular rental agencies that also list their units. You can access their reservation facility by searching for StudioVitaApartments. The advantages of working directly with them are manifold: (1) their office is in the same neighborhood as the units we rented, they are available around the clock, and they provided personal service and a friendly presence throughout our stay (2) they allow their guests to leave their luggage in their facility, which is a huge advantage for anyone traveling around Italy from Bologna, which has excellent train service to anywhere in Italy - and beyond - within a 10-minute walk from their office, as well as rental car agencies right across the street from the train station (3) they provide an excellent check-in facility with a video showing the procedure and location of the unit for easy entry (4) they provide an excellent map of Bologna clearly labelled with all the streets and vicole (alleys, where some of the best local restaurants are hiding!) (5) they deliver any needed accessories directly to our unit (our luggage, and a space heater!) If you have any plans to visit this wonderful city chock full of authentic local Italian flavor (and culinary delights!), Residenza Ariosto are the best hosts you will find - the epitome of a solid five-star review!

“5 days in Bolgna”

It was a great apartment close to old town and Uni areas but so quiet. Really comfortable bed. Super convenient check in with great communication. Great to have washing machine in apartment. Really good value overall.

Location-wise, Residenza Ariosta cannot be faulted. Housed in an historic building the 2 bedroom apartment is located minutes from the centre of Bologna’s historic centre. Location-wise, Residenza Ariosta cannot be faulted. Housed in an historic building the 2 bedroom apartment is located minutes from the centre of Bologna’s historic centre. At night there is a restaurant metres from the entrance to the building. We ate there one night and had a very pleasant meal. But we did have a few grievances. My wife and another couple stayed in the apartment between 4 September 2025 and 7 September. There is an elevator in the building but it is NOT for use by lodgers which meant we had to carry our luggage up several flights of stairs. The other negative is the position of the toilet in the bathroom. Either the shower or toilet were after thoughts. You have to sit sideways on the toilet because the shower is so close! I would still recommend Residenza Ariosta because of its location and because the people who manage the property work in an office across the street and were very helpful.
