Lefay exceeded our expectations and ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Set high above Lake Garda, the views are simply breathtaking. The property has been beautifully designed to blend into its surroundings, creating an atmosphere that feels incredibly peaceful from the moment you arrive. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean and thoughtfully appointed. Every part of the resort was maintained to an exceptionally high standard. The spa is undoubtedly the centrepiece. Before arriving, we weren't entirely sure whether it would be our style, particularly as many guests move throughout the resort in their robes. We initially found this a little confronting, but within a few hours it simply became part of the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. By the end of our stay, we absolutely loved it. We also enjoyed a massage in the spa, which was excellent and among the best we've experienced. Breakfast each morning was outstanding, with an extensive selection of high-quality food and attentive service. We dined at both of the resort's restaurants during our stay. The food was good and we enjoyed both meals, although we did feel they were expensive for what they offered. One of the unexpected highlights of our stay was taking a short walk from the resort and discovering Trattoria Bar Giglio. It's an unassuming restaurant at a local campsite, but don't let that deter you. The food was authentic, generous and among the best we enjoyed in Italy. The service throughout the resort was exceptional. In particular, the team in the lounge bar were outstanding - friendly, welcoming and genuinely attentive without ever feeling overbearing. They made returning each evening for a drink a pleasure. If you're looking for a relaxing escape with spectacular views, exceptional wellness facilities and understated luxury, Lefay is difficult to fault. We left feeling genuinely rested and would happily return.

My girlfriend and I have visited the hotel several times and we both regard it as one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at. The hotel interior still feels “new” (despite being built 15-17 years ago we believe), the atmosphere is amazing given that it’s up in the mountains, the staff is extremely friendly and solution-oriented, the breakfast is absolutely amazing and the views are (well .. just look at my photos). The hotel has several pools in different locations, numerous saunas and many areas to relax at. It’s a proper 5-star hotel and I recommend you to at least stay 2-3 nights.

Astounding views. Exquisite rooms. Spectacular spa. Gorgeous infinity pool surrounded by see and be seen guests in perfect Brazilian style bikinis. In some ways this high end luxury hotel feels plucked from the TV series White Orchid. It could be anywhere. Maui perhaps? An island in the Pacific. All beautiful. But it is definitely not the kind of place to bring one's children - no matter how spoiled. Lefay is definitely a couples oriented spot where sensuality is the mood of the moment. Food in the main restaurant is good - in part because of its limited offerings. But we found the high priced "gourmet" restaurant atrocious. The hotel is built into a mountain so has many levels but not enough elevators or staff. The spa itself is spectacular but its offerings are odd. There is a "lunar" experience in which one descends down a narrow circular staircase into claustrophobic cave like space so one can float in a salt water pool beneath an enormous suspended moon. Like the rest of the hotel with its gorgeous rooms, the spa itself seems plucked from an architectural magazine complete with gigantic glass sauna with floor to ceiling picture windows suspended high above Lake Garda. But the whole place could use more staff.
