We chose to stay at Palazzo Galla during our honeymoon in Rome. The location was fantastic, the rooms were large and beautiful, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The best part about this hotel is the rooftop. Aside from standing atop of the Altare Della Patria, you will not find a better view in Rome. Seriously, we went to every rooftop bar/restaurant, and none even compare.

This is one of the very best hotels we have stayed in , from the moment you arrive you are aware of the quality of service, lovely efficient and friendly staff, welcome drink you immediately feel relaxed. We had room 414 which was lovely, good size, clinically clean and calming. Whenever we needed anything the staff were so kind and helpful so the whole stay was wonderful. It is undoubtedly the only hotel to choose when visiting Rome .

This hotel was simply amazing. Beautiful boutique style accommodation with very comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated rooms. Every comfort was taken care of from the little biscuits in the room to the vanity bag. We booked a Superior Roma twin room which was excellent; it even provided a partial view of the Vittoriano which was very unexpected, and from the other window a view over the street at the front of the hotel. The toiletries were high quality and made for a nice little pamper after clocking up thousands of steps exploring the city. The robes and slippers comfortable. The beds super nice. Our room was quiet with no internal noise from the corridors or adjacent rooms. Upon our arrival at just after 11am following an early flight from Edinburgh, we were immediately welcomed to sit down and check in with welcome drinks and snacks offered. This was such a lovely gesture especially as we were tired and thirsty having not slept well the previous evening. To our surprise, our room was already available - wow. I must stress just how exceptionally friendly and kind the staff were from the moment we arrived until checking out. The ladies at reception were fabulous, as was Edwin who was always waiting to help with warmth and a bit of humour as you passed through the lobby. The staff at the Palazzo Galla are absolutely providing five star service; better so than many of the five star hotels we have stayed at! We can only thank them for their hospitality and for making our stay so perfect. Breakfast both mornings was very good with an extensive choice of menu options to order and a more than adequate self-select buffet. The croissants were delicious! The latte even more so. Mimosas also on offer. Again, lovely staff to make your day start well. Lastly, the rooftop terrace is a standout for this hotel with expansive 360° views across all of Rome (including the Colosseum, St Peter’s dome, Pantheon, Spanish Steps etc). A perfect place to enjoy a drink (bar service was until 7pm but the terrace itself can be accessed from 6am-11pm). Don’t miss it. The location of the hotel is perfect with the vast majority of landmarks a mere 5-15 minutes stroll away. We had a Scavi tour booked at the Vatican on our second day and the taxi the hotel ordered for us took only around 10 minutes to get there and cost us €12. Amazing! You could probably walk there if you felt up to it but the taxi is such an easy option and saves your energy for exploring! Upon checkout we were given a cute little magnet to remind us of the view from the roof terrace, as if we could forget! A charming gesture that sets the hotel high above all others at this price point. Thank you H10 Palazzo Galla for making our second visit to Rome so special. We felt so welcome and at home and left with great desire to return as soon as possible! Grazie!

First impressions of this hotel were great: beautiful lobby/reception area; friendly and welcoming staff and a glass of bubbly on arrival. The room was very comfortable, light and nicely decorated. The breakfast was delicious with a buffet-style for the continental breakfast and hot options such as omelettes, crepes and waffles cooked to order. The portions are small, but you can easily order sides, eg bacon, sausages and potato rosti to make more of a meal. There was even champagne available which was a lovely holiday treat. The location of this hotel is perfect: close to Trevi Fountain with many bars and restaurants nearby. Be prepared to bring comfortable trainers as you will be doing a lot of walking from one location to the next. This is something that we really enjoyed and all the main attractions (Colosseum, Vatican, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona etc) are within walking distance with plenty of nice places to stop for refreshments along the way. Sadly, we did not visit the rooftop bar as we were out exploring all day, every day and the bar was closed on our return. I’m sure that in the Summer months when the evenings are longer, this would be a lovely spot to relax and soak up the views.
