It took us nine long years to get back to the Monte Cenci since our first visit and it continues to impress. Paolo Mazzari makes this hotel really special with his exceptional friendliness, care, and attention. We just love this place and we will be back - hopefully before another nine years has elapsed! (Special mention to the Monte Cenci's very impressive mixologist, Takuro - I hope I spelt your name correctly.)

I don’t often write reviews, but it is indeed my pleasure to write this review highlighting the exemplary service, outstanding hospitality, and wonderful ambiance of the Hotel Monte Cenci in Rome. The hotel is a “Boutique” hotel, but don’t let that moniker dissuade you. The rooms are modern, the amenities are outstanding, and the price is reasonably affordable. The Hotel Monte Cenci is clean, well maintained, and finely appointed with thoughtfully modern Roman decor and interior design. The rooftop space that serves as both reception for a buffet breakfast and evening bar is a very pleasant place to spend some time gearing up for your exploration of Rome or winding down from a day of adventure with a nightcap or two. The service was beyond perfecto in our opinion. The front desk is supervised by Charlie, who is very demanding of his staff. The front desk staff are exceptionally well trained in hospitality and genuinely welcoming; nothing in our experience was pretentious, fake, or fawning for a tip. While we were there for only five nights, we were so well received by the staff we felt as if they were genuinely friends we’d like to receive in our own home. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Paulo, Idye (sp?), and Ana. If you want to know where the locals eat, ask them. If you want to know where the nearest KFC is, ask them; they will accommodate you. They know Rome and they seem to love sharing it with others. I have traveled a lot on business or in government service, so I can say I’ve stayed many nights in many hotels, but none of them measure up to the magic of Hotel Cenci.

“A great place to stay!!”

The location is perfect!! It’s in walking distance to everything but not in a heavy foot traffic area. The hotel is beautiful and clean, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and comfortable and the rooftop bar was a great place to relax with a beverage before bed.

“A bit cramped but overall a good package”

The rooms are decent and neat, but space was not found to be adequate enough. The breakfast served at the 5 floor cafe was just fine. The location is pretty good and just a minute walk away from the Tiber river. If you are open to walk 20-30 minutes, all the key attractions are walkable. The staff … more

The rooms are decent and neat, but space was not found to be adequate enough. The breakfast served at the 5 floor cafe was just fine. The location is pretty good and just a minute walk away from the Tiber river. If you are open to walk 20-30 minutes, all the key attractions are walkable. The staff were helpful to suggest good local restaurants for our group to try out.
