“Spacious, clean, friendly and quiet”

I had everything I could hope of the hotel. Spacious rooms, very good breakfast, friendly people everywhere, no sulking faces. Good restaurant, luscious happy hour. Warm shower, suitably cool air. 1 km to city and trams and buses and restaurants nearby. Thankyou!

Having previously stayed in the Pigneto district, I was very pleased with the location of this hotel. Yes, there is a lot of walking to the centre but this is actually what we wanted, although twice we caught the bus from around the corner! The hotel itself is lovely, clean, friendly staff, good value for money. The soundproofing is adequate, we could still hear people in the corridor but nothing more than I would have expected in a hotel. The room was lovely, nothing particularly special but a good size and had a very clean carpet! There was a mini fridge in our room but it was pretty full with very overpriced snacks and drinks and given the time of year, we would have preferred to keep more water in there than there was room for. Breakfast was part of our booking, there was plenty of choice, perfectly adequate to start the day, plenty of seats although it did get noisy when filler. The only downside to this place, and it’s not going to affect your stay, was the evening dining experience. On one evening, we had walked for miles and just couldn’t face going out again for dinner, so we tried the restaurant. You get a 10% off coupon when checking in but it’s not worth it. The meal size was fine for us both but the quality did not meet the cost. My chicken bites & chips was served in a bowl with 4 slabs of chicken on top of crisps essentially, with paper at the bottom that got soggy, ripped and I ended up pulling bits out of my mouth. The chicken had no real flavour and the chips were disks, so lost their filling in the cooking process. Husband had pasta, tasty but nothing special. We each had one drink and the total came to over 40€ with the 10% off, so nearer 50€. I left at minimum 2 thirds of the meal although husband ate all of his. We still left a tip though as service was fantastic, can’t fault the staff for the hotels decisions or pricing! Overall, if we hadn’t eaten at the restaurant, I would have given this place a 5.

“Adequate but has reservations.”

This is situated in the Trastevere area of Rome, same side of the river as the Vatican but not other destinations. This is situated in the Trastevere area of Rome, same side of the river as the Vatican but not other destinations. There are no Metro or City tour bus stations nearby, so its either a tram, local bus or 30 minute walk before you start. Not a bad area to base if you don't mind the start. There are so many great street restaurants all within 15-25 minutes walk. It is close to the Jewish Quarter which also has some unusul restaurants. The hotel has a 'modern' look. Not to everyone's tast. Bar and restaurant areas are good. Breakfast is good but like many europen hotles that cater for numbers, this also have only two coffee machines handling over 60 at any sitting!! The cooked breakfast is limited but there is abundance of cereal, fruit, hams, cheeses and pastries as usual. The room we hd were not efficienlty laid out withthe bed in the centre of the room with a flat surface topped headboard with an asortment of switches-which are awkward to to use from a laying down position. The matress and pillows are ok. There are no bedside tables, no drawers or real wardrobes, only hanging rails and open shelves. The shape of the room, as the breakfast room have curves, awkward and dodgy walking areas with lips etc all to catch your footing. The bedroom has a slope runing uo to the bthroom/shower. This had a 30mm step into which had a hard edge, another accident waiting to happen, The toilret roll was behind the sitting position so just impracticle to access. The room was dark with a very large mirror which was poorly lit so no good for makeup etc. Great shower. The bedroom had a work top at the far end of the room from the bottom of the bed position. This had a TV and fridge unit. The sockets were on the back of this so one has to reach over and try and locate. These were on a built in strip, slighlty recessed so adaptors could not be plugged in. We had to request an extension lead with several sockets. (phone charging, tongs etc.) Air con worked well and there was a small balcony area with tabel and chairs on the outside terrace. Views were not worth the effort, but nonetheless good for an early evening aperative or breakfast cuppa. (No milk whatsoever-so you would need to purchase some from a locla store and keep in the fridge) As I said, the layout of the room was not conventional and not over comfortable. The room wa slight but no mirrors in the main room for make-up, contact lens etc. The hotel has parking, but what is not informed is that it is managed by a separate company, has limited acess times at weekends and a daily charge.
