“Great”

Very nice rooms, great facilities on site and you wouldn’t even have to leave to have a good time. Although if you choose to public transport from the side is very affordable and easy to get to the city.

On balance, this was a brilliant stay. We tend to go for 4* hotels or higher but as a first holiday with our baby we decided to take a risk on this site. I was nervous due to some of the reviews on here but I was so pleasantly surprised; I was happy we made this choice. Check in was very straightforward. Security helped us up the hill to our accomodation in a golf cart as we had luggage and no vehicle. Staff were always friendly and polite. The site is beautifully maintained and it appears well managed. Our accommodation was spacious, clean, and comfortable with aircon, big walk in shower and separate toilet, 3 beds and modular furniture. The sound insulation wasn’t brilliant, but to be expected at this kind of place and it was always quiet after 11pm. The pool is a big hit - a great size with plenty of nice sun-loungers and very clean and well kept. No need for the 6am rush with towels; we always got the beds and parasols we needed at any time. The poolside bar had a great food and drink offer that was reasonably priced and we had some lovely days at the pool. One of the only downsides was that it is a little awkwardly located. There are not many restaurants or things to do off site within walking distance, you need to drive, get a bus or the train station is a 20 minute walk away to get into Rome. We were able to get Ubers quickly. I think there is a shuttle but we didn’t use this. On balance, it was incredible value for money, had everything we needed and exceeded expectations. I appreciate there is a huge volume of guests checking in and out and the operation is well run. My only suggestion would be to keep some very simple basics for sale at reception for those arriving late after the onsite shop/restaurant and supermarket over the road have closed. The vending machine wasn’t working and we would have been very grateful to purchase some bottled water and basic snacks to tide us over to the morning. We would stay again,

“Expensive, disorganised, close to centre”

We stayed at flaminia camping for a night and then stayed here and I wish we had stayed at flaminia bungalow park the whole time! The selling point of this campsite is that it is close to the centre and granted, it’s a bus or a bus and then metro away which overall takes about 45 mins. However, the check in/ check out services are inefficient. There is a ticketing system that they don’t use properly and actually takes longer than if people just queue up. It was also quite expensive compared to flaminia bungalow park. The check in crew are quite dismissive and not particularly friendly. The camp spots are close to the main area which is unfortunate in the evening because there is blaring music at 9pm so not great if you have little ones. Pool is smaller than other sites and we paid 6 euro ( higher than the Hu camping in Florence or flaminia ) for a washing machine where you had no control over the detergent used ( not good for allergies) and we did one wash and the clothes literally had the same dirt on them, it did nothing. We also paid for an electric pitch and they situated us about 3 pitches away from mains box, this would have been fine except the mains plug in was at the front of the pitch so we had to add another 5 m to the cable in order to avoid laying our wires where people drive their cars. We had to give them €60 CASH ONLY for an extension which I usually wouldn’t have minded except we paid already to have electricity provision which we were not appropriatley provided with. Pitches are under these trees that continuously molt, we stayed two days but had to wipe our solar panels before we could leave. Whole thing just seemed very disorganised and not worth the money. If it’s a weigh up between this and flaminia bungalow park, this one has more a sesh/adult theme whereas flaminia has a more family friendly vibe. However one thing I would say is the grounds staff/security guards etc were brilliant, kind, friendly. They really endeared the place to us.
