We stayed 5 nights at Monti. The location was perfect (5' to Colosseum), the street is relatively quite, the apartment itself (3rd floor) is a bit old and basic. The service is once per 3 days.Very attentive and helpfull staff speking French and English. Clearness: spotless bed sheets and towels but a kitchen and floor tiles could be cleaner. Kitchen: only few plates, forks, vine glasses, pans: difficult to prepare a real dinner. In the neighbourhoud: several shops where you can find local food, great pizzeria "Wanted"at the corner of the street. Fair quality/price, generally nice feeling about accomodation.

Stayed here for 3nights in an apartment for 120euro per night. The apartment had a double bed in the loft and couple of sofas in the living room. The bed was comfortable to sleep in. I basically chose the short-let apartment because we were travelling with a 2-year old, and the kitchen was a necessity to fix his feed (sometimes at odd & unpredictable times). Also it turned out to be a great location. Note: You have to check-in at Hotel Valle on Via cavour (600m from the apartment.. same distance from termini. Hotel valle is bang middle between Termini & apartment). You get your keys from Hotel valle, where they can also give you map and all necessary directions etc for visiting in the historic center. But once you are at the apartment - if you need anything, you have to call Hotel Valle. The rooms was kept well -- but not extremely clean. They were just clean - nothing much. The flooring is not great - sometimes even sticky in a few places. Kitchen had some basic utensils, nothing more -- not even salt & pepper. The fridge was completely bare. The bathroom has a low roof - anybody over 5' 7" will hit the roof with the head. Sometimes during a bath, the hotwater suddenly disappears. The rooms adjacent to Via Serpenti are not exactly soundproof - howeevr, Via dei serpenti has very less traffic at night. So not a problem unless you are hypersensitive to sounds while sleeping. It has the above flaws, but it served my purpose very well. Having a kitchen realy helped with the baby. The location was great - walking distance to colosseum, trevi, piazza colonna, spanish steps etc. So whenever the child was tired - we could come to the apartment, rest for a while and go back to roaming in Rome. There are a few good pizzerias on Serpenti. An excellant IL Gelatone just 5steps from the apartment. The 117 bus stops near the IL gelatone and goes to colosseum. If you are planning to book - advised to call Hotel valle & send them an email directly. somehow there seems to be communication gap between the booking on website & the chekcin staff at Hotel valle. Very nearby on Via Milano try cupcakes at Sweety Rome - the Tiramisu was mindblowing. 3weeks after my trip - I still cannot get it out of my head. Pining for more. Because of the location & kitchen it helped me extremely well for my trip. No breakfast. AC in the room. Elevator too. No problems with security. If you dont need a kitchen or privacy -- can get better value elsewhere. But overall it is a pretty decent place. Just the convenience to places of interest & options for quick bite on Serpenti add a lot of value to this place. Recommended if you are not looking for luxury, room service & frills, and dont mind being on your own.

We stayed at the Residenza Monti in room 201 (second floor) for three nights in September 2015. The location of the apartments is in the beautiful Monti neighbourhood it is a 5-10 min walk to the Colosseum, a 20-25 min walk to the Trevi Fountain (which had sadly still ongoing restoration works) the more central part of Rome but is a nice walk. We also walked to the Vatican it was about an hour's walk. We checked in at the Hotel Valle, which manages the apartments, it is on Via Cavour a 15-20 min walk from the Termini Train station, the wifi is free just remember to get the password. We received a set of three keys to access the apartment. From Hotel Valle it is a less than 10 min walk to Residenza Monti, which is on Via dei Serpenti. There are plenty of nice restaurants around the apartment building with reasonable prices and a very good Gelateria right next to it. Now the place itself left us with mixed feelings. I read the reviews on tripadvisor before making the booking, which were part favourable and part unfavourable so my expectations were not very high but I loved the location. The pros for apartment 201 Very spacious studio apartment, has a comfortable double bed, one sofa, two sofa chairs, two wardrobes, a flat screen tv with Italian channels, a kitchenette, a kitchen table and two small tea tables and a fridge. The airconditioning was working great and was really needed during our stay as the temperatures soared to 33C, it was also very handy to have the fridge. The furniture is ok but the sofa has a Iron stain on it. The location is great and the place is very secure. The cons The Bathroom is awful, just awful, also there is no hair dryer. The design of it, the toilet itself it does not flush very well and the most dreadful shower we have ever come across. The shower does not work very well at all. The floor was extremely dirty, very sticky I am not sure when it had been cleaned the last time. Except from the filthy floor the rest of the place was clean. There is also a daily maid service. The windows are not double glazed and therefore not soundproof. It is worth to note that there is a lively bar right next door so there might be some noise until the early hours. Upon check out a mandatory Italian hotel tax needs to be paid which applies to all hotels. The charge for two for three nights was 21 euros. To sum up the bathroom and the state of the floor are major letdowns as well as the not soundproof windows for that reason we would not return. The majors pros are the location, space, kitchen and safety.

The position of the place in the city is perfect. It is located 3 minutes walking from the metro Cavour. The Termini station is 20 minutes walking. There are a lot of nice places to go out to. We stayed for 3 months in the big flat from the 3rd floor. It is alright if you need to stay there for a few days up to probably two weeks. But it is not fit for longer stay. The furniture and kitchen are very very very old. This is why personally I could never live there again. Also there are not enough stuff in the kitchen for the everyday cooking. If you need something or if something does not work anymore and you call the reception, what you need will most probably come to you very very late or never. And if something breaks, even if it is flooding the house, the answer of the people from the reception will be something like: I don't know.. I cannot do anything about it and so on. Because whenever something needs to be done, the manager or something like that, has to approve it. And it will take ages for the approval to come. And the cleaning ladies are very very nice. The only problem would be that they have to work in 2 hours the work of at least 4h. They are overworked. Otherwise it was alrighish. They allowed us to stay with the dog there which was fabulous. I would recommend it for a very short stay, but I can assure you that you will not be eating in if you come for a short stay as there are a lot of good places to eat around so don't get a flat with a kitchen because you won't be cooking anyway.

My husband and I stayed at these apartments in Rome for four nights at the end of our holiday in Italy. The apartment we stayed in was nothing like the photos - while it technically had everything stated, it was much 'daggier'. We chose to stay in an apartment (rather than a hotel) because we thought it would be nice to have a bigger base and also maybe get some breakfast or dinner locally. This turned out to be a fallacy. While adequate and a good location I think there are better places to stay for the same cost. The cleanliness of the place was very poor with the floor very sticky to the extent that we did not want to walk around the apartment barefoot.
