Stayed here years ago and the hotel is still fabulous. The property is situated high on a hill with lovely views of Rome. Surrounded by magnificent gardens and mature trees, it is indeed an oasis away from the heat and crowds of central Rome. The property boasts a large swimming pool with poolside restaurants, including one that prepares pizzas in a wood burning oven every evening. For those wanting to venture into the city, it’s a 10 minute taxi ride to the Vatican and about 15 minutes to the via dei Condotti and Spanish steps. I always go into the city in the morning for coffee and sightseeing, have lunch at a local restaurant then escape the madness and crowds of the city and return to the serenity of the hotel around 3:00. Once back, I relax by the pool and order room service, which is always great, for dinner. While some say the hotel and furnishings are dated, I disagree. The hotel, built in 1962, has a wonderful “Dolce Vita” vibe to it and the furnishings are very fitting and well maintained. The staff from check in through out our stay were all very kind and efficient. In terms of comparative costs, I paid around $800 US per room, which is very reasonable compared to other 5 star hotels in central Rome that can start in the $2,000 per night range. All in all, it was another great stay at the Cavalieri and I highly recommend the hotel.

Really wonderful hotel in all aspects. The design of the hotel is incredible for those who like architecture and design. The attention to detail is amazing : the floors, the lamps, the fittings, the art collection. Service is really excellent through out everyone is very well trained. It’s an older style hotel so if you’re looking for the edition this isn’t the place for you. There are some annoyances : pool closes at 6pm which is too early. Room service is grossly expensive but it is everywhere at these your of hotels. I loved it.

We recently stayed here as a family of four, and overall, we had a very good experience. The absolute standout feature is the staff and customer service—they were excellent, attentive, and made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our stay. The Highlights: Dining: Both breakfast and dinner were very good, offering great quality and variety. Accommodations: We stayed in a family suite which was fantastic in terms of layout and space for the four of us. The Downside: The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. Because of this, the rooms we stayed in felt very dated and are definitely in need of that refresh. That being said, the exceptional service and overall comfort more than made up for the older decor. Once the renovations are complete, it will be an even better place to stay. We would definitely consider returning!

I really wish they could do better when it comes to honoring membership status in HH. This must be our 4th time here when they don’t do anything. I really wish they could do better when it comes to honoring membership status in HH. This must be our 4th time here when they don’t do anything. No early check in, no late check out, no upgrading of room. It is really disappointing. At this hotel your membership level in Hilton has really no value whatsoever, and the fact that you are a loyal,returning guest doesn’t mean a thing either. Since our last visit about 10 months ago we have seen a few improvements here, that’s why the hotel earned an extra star when writing this review. New of the year is that they serve pineapple and coffe mousse and cold towels by the pool. (Not simultaneously). (Waiters sometimes forgot one end of the pool but when we asked they were there quickly). Andaz, by the pool, he is a GEM. This man is friendly, helpful and loyal. (Keep him and give him a raise!) The only thing a little annoying was when you go to the pool you walk pass the spa reception and the women there interrogate you every time. Ask what room you are in. I stay in far too many hotels all the time (occupational hazard) to always remember until we’re at day 2 or 3, so quite annoying. Sort out people who aren’t supposed to be there in a better way. It was just irritating. One more thing when we were there: the children’s pool was closed so it was not peaceful at all, like the oasis we expected it to be. On Saturday there was a huge party going on nearby the pool with a large crowd, resulting in a hard time getting a hold of waiters and a lot of noise. Not quite what we had expected. Breakfast is now better. It was my last years complaint. The main focus is still Italian delicacies like mozzarella and Parma (one year it was more American oriented, due to a congress going on) which is how it should be. A chef was there preparing yoghurt with berries according to your preferences which gave an exclusive touch to it. They are doing a refurbishment/complete makeover to the hotel (good because it shall last many more years, sad because it’s been more or less the same since my first visit in -97) and half of the hotel is closed. (That explain the constant steep prices in a supply/demand-setting). Not sure how long this situation will last but a while I am sure. Lounge is good, somewhat improved since last year but then we were really disappointed. I will call this «back to where it should be». Toiletries in bathroom has changed. Still Aqua di parma but in large sizes which makes it more environmentally friendly and a little more exclusive. Just please stop with the «supposed to be hung on the wall but not hanging on the wall»design. That takes the exclusivity away. Better hair drier please! House keeping has always impressed me but this time it was on and off. Not always a complete set of towels. Room service WONDERFUL! Always quick, polite and super friendly. We had cappuccinos sent to our room every day, a tiny luxury that has become our habit. We also had food one day and everything was so nicely presented. All in all happy and considering coming back in August.
