“Amazing great location”

Lovley old hotel very clean in a wonderful location close to a lot of attractions. The only criticism is could do with blackout curtains but other than that excellent stay , staff were very attentive and helpful would definitely stay again

Stayed in Traiano 8-11th April 2026 and found this hotel great. The location is amazing - right between the Colesseum and Trevi with the palace just down the stairs outside! The breakfast was great with a wide selection that even our fussiest of eaters was satisfied. The front staff - so helpful, acted like they knew us from the start, gave amazing food recommendations for the nicest pasta I've ever had! Would recommend to anyone!!!

“Well located hotel in the heart of Rome”

We spent four nights at the Traiano hotel in May 2026. The staff were very welcoming and the main reception area was pleasant and accommodating . I was travelling solo with 3 couples and we had all booked double rooms. One couple were on the 2nd floor in a spacious room to the back of the hotel which was nice and quiet and plenty of room, with large windows looking into a small enclosed courtyard The other three rooms were located on the 1st floor looking out onto a busy and noisy road. The windows were all small and could open fully although that made the room very noisy. The rooms on this floor were much smaller and to be honest my room was tiny, around half the size of my friends on the 2nd floor despite paying the same price. The bathrooms were all well presented and had everything required and were very clean. There was no bar area in the hotel with the only place to meet and chat before and after going out was the main reception area where they were several comfortable couches. The Hotel could have done with an area for guests to meet and relax away from the reception area, especially as some of the rooms were so small. The breakfast area was clean and the breakfast offered was excellent with a wide choice of both hot and cold offerings. However, the main attribute of this Hotel is definitely the location. It was ideal for all of the main attractions and you could walk to the Colosseum in around 15 minutes, the Trevi fountain in around 8 minutes and the Spanish steps in round 15 minutes. We even walked to the Vatican, Castillo Sant Angelo and the river area in around 30 minutes and didn’t have to catch a taxi or public transport at any point over the four days. There are lots of great restaurants and several bars dotted around the Hotel and we could not have asked for a better location for our stay. Therefore, overall this hotel was ideal for Short stays In Rome as long as you are not looking for a large bedroom or somewhere to grab a drink and relax after a day out. We booked this as part of a package deal including flights, but it probably worked out at around £200 per room per night, regardless of whether there were one or two people in the room. This included breakfast. That did feel expensive compared to other places, but you were right in the heart of Rome so that may well be a going rate.
