“Lovely”

This place is fantastic! Go for a room with a terrace. The people are friendly and the lobby smelled so good I spent too much money on the fragrance they use to keep it that way. A great and lasting keepsake.

The hotel and the staff are wonderful . The rooms are immaculate and the location is superb . A wonderful view of the lake and modern rooms beautifully styled . We are returning next year and have already booked . Thank young a wonderful stay. Amanda

Although we have only used the bar/restaurant facilities at Hotel du Lac we are so impressed by the standards that we can see, that we are determined to return to beautiful Gardone and book Hotel du Lac for our stay. The food and drink that are served at the stunning location on the waterfront is perfect, little aesthetic details like the quality table linen, crockery and lighting add to the general ambiance and feel of understated luxury. The staff at Hotel du Lac could not have been more helpful and welcoming, particularly as my husband is coeliac and require gluten free diet. The hotel goes above and beyond to provide everything he could possibly want. We had a lovely couple of people looking after us who both deserve a mention though I only noted Fabio’s name I can say they worked so hard looking after a very busy restaurant showing great patience with lots of smiles. I highly recommend

My husband and I selected this hotel after reading positive reviews and considering its ideal location, as we were getting married on the island of Isola del Garda. We even recommended it to our family and friends, many of whom also booked their stay here. On arrival, the hotel made a wonderful first impression. The property is visually stunning, spotlessly clean, and our room was spacious with a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake. The young gentleman at reception who welcomed us was polite and professional. Unfortunately, as more of our wedding party arrived, problems began to emerge. Our group was multi-heritage, including Jamaican, St. Kitts, Nigerian, and New Guinean backgrounds. As guests of colour, we consistently felt singled out and unwelcome throughout our stay. One particularly distressing incident involved being told by management that no more than three people were permitted on my room’s balcony at any one time—despite the fact that eight of us were staying there, and there was no mention of such a rule in writing or in the hotel’s official policies. When I sought clarification, I was met at first with a barrage at my door, followed by a phone call, and ultimately a very unpleasant exchange at reception. The male manager remained calm but vague, referencing an alleged “known” policy in Italy, which I challenged as nothing was provided in writing. During this conversation, his wife’s manner was extremely aggressive and hostile, which only escalated the situation further. To avoid further conflict, I reluctantly asked our guests to move into the lobby. What was most disheartening was the overall attitude of management. Instead of providing reassurance or seeking resolution, their approach left us feeling disrespected and targeted. As a bride, experiencing this level of hostility during such an important occasion was deeply upsetting. While the hotel itself is aesthetically beautiful, the treatment we received marred what should have been a joyous and memorable stay. Sadly, the service fell far short of the standard expected in hospitality, where respect and inclusivity should be at the forefront. To travellers from ethnic minority backgrounds—particularly Black guests—I would not recommend this property. Lake Garda offers many wonderful hotels where warmth and professionalism are genuinely extended to all guests. Unfortunately, this was not one of them, and we will not be returning.
