“Comfortable hotel in good location for exploring Milan”

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting Milan. We chose the hotel due to its location as we were going to a concert at the Ippodromo Snai Manura and we wanted to stay somewhere where we could walk back to afterwards. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting Milan. We chose the hotel due to its location as we were going to a concert at the Ippodromo Snai Manura and we wanted to stay somewhere where we could walk back to afterwards. This worked perfectly as the hotel was 5 minutes from the nearest Metro station of Portello and a 50 minute walk from the stadium. We also found that being close to the Metro made it easy to get to and from Linate airport, as well as around the city for sightseeing. The local regional train station of Domodossola was also a 15 minute walk away where we caught a train to Lake Como for the day. The hotel itself has a grand entrance being in a converted church. We had a room up on the 12th floor with views towards the mountains which was very comfortable. The bathroom had an excellent shower and the usual amenities with robes and slippers. There was tea and coffee making facilities although we found that supplies were not automatically replenished by the maid service. We ended up asking at reception each day for extras which although were quickly supplied it was a little frustrating that this didn’t happen automatically. We also found the room servicing was erratic in its timing, and on one occasion was so late we gave up on it! We had got back around 5pm having been out all day in the heat and just wanted a sleep before going out for dinner so we put the do not disturb sign on the door! The pool area on the roof was a nice facility to have but we found it got too hot and there wasn’t much shade. The bar service by the pool was also very slow as it was actually provided by the main bar on the ground floor. We didn’t eat in the hotel as there were lots of cafes, bars and restaurants within walking distance, approximately 10-15 minutes, and as this was a residential area they were very reasonably priced. Overall this was a comfortable hotel in an ideal location for our visit to Milan. It’s not central but with the metro being cheap and easy to use we found it was perfect for getting around the city.
