I had been planning to write a glowing review for this hotel even before leaving. My wife and I have had the privilege of traveling around Europe and staying at 5 star hotels throughout. None have compared to BHS. It seems as though Joe H. In his August 2025 review took the words right out of my mouth. Our experience was identical. There was a genuine feeling of warmth and caring from every staff member no matter their role . The hotel is beautiful and was as Joe failed to mention also, extremely well situated just minutes walk from town and nice restaurants, shops etc. We stayed 5 nights and felt badly leaving, especially the staff we got to know during our stay. If you plan to visit Stresa, it is an experience that should not be missed.

The hotel, its staff, the level of service and its location make this Hotel a must for anyone visiting Stresa. Firstly the Hotel itself, recently opened, is a perfect example of Architectural and design excellence, quality of the materials used and incredible attention to detail with outstanding consistency through out (yes i am a construction professional within the fit out industry so i have a good eye for this!) The facilities are superb and every member of staff is extremely attentive to your needs, This hotel just feels like it has everything to make any length of stay truly memorable.

The best quality amenities include a gym, spa, Restaurant, breakfast, food and beverage, Riedel glasses, Villeroy and Boch china, spacious rooms, an excellent champagne and caviar selection, and the best service in Stresa. The breakfast is combined with both buffet and menu. Best in Italy. If you like Four Seasons, Mondrian, or Peninsula hotels- this is your place it stay in Stresa. Go to Isola Bella to Terre Borromeo and plan to doe d 2 hours at least. Quaint square just a five-minute walk from shops and restaurants. Only con- no tub. Ask for a lake view if available. Spa is a suite only, not a communal spa.

“Nice property - but not a good value or good service”

We reserved a grand suite which was described as having a “large terrace that directly overlook the expanse of the lake and Borromeo islands”. I would say this is an inaccurate description. We reserved a grand suite which was described as having a “large terrace that directly overlook the expanse of the lake and Borromeo islands”. I would say this is an inaccurate description. Our room had a lovely balcony which overlooked the street and the hotel across the street, the Regina Palace. Off in the distance, past the other hotel, we could see the lake. I asked the front desk if we had the right room and they said yes, maybe it was a misunderstanding/language issue from the description. I’d say when you advertise that a room has a balcony directly looks over the lake, and it doesn’t, you have false advertising, not a misunderstanding. The hotel is new, modern and quiet. No expansive lobby to enjoy or relax in. No real amenities other than the outdoor pool (which is lovely but it was too cold/rainy when we were there to use it). The restaurant on the ground floor didn’t even have views (as opposed to every other hotel along the street that had floor to ceiling windows with lovely views of the lake), and it was super expensive. We also had several service issues with the front desk. We had an issue with our shower, and asked them to look at it while we were out for the day. We returned at 5 PM and our room wasn’t cleaned as someone, (not us), put a DND card on our door. When I asked the desk what happened with the shower repair, they said they have no record of an issue with our shower. Further more, they had no idea who put the DND sign on our door. Separately, our travel advisor had given the hotel her personal AMEX so we could get a preferred rate. She triple checked they had her AMEX number, but upon checkout they said they had no record of it (Even though I saw the email she sent to them with her card info). Just little things you wouldn’t expect when you pay over $1,000 a night. All in all I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It was lovely, but not a good value.
