We stayed here several nights during our visit to Stresa. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived so the front desk stored our luggage and actually had it delivered it to our room by the time we returned later in the afternoon. The room had a balcony that overlooked Lake Maggiore with room for a table and 2 chairs. There were power shutters on the balcony door that darkened the room nicely. There were also plenty of electrical outlets by the bed for charging purposes. The bathroom had plenty of counter space and plentiful hot water. We ate breakfast each morning in their restaurant, and they had a good selection of meats and cheeses in addition to fruits, cereals and breads. The weather was too cool for us to use, but they also had a beach club across the street with a pool, loungers and umbrellas.

Great Location, however most of the other large hotels have a good location on the front as well. The hotel is modern and very functional compared to some of the older hotels in the area. It has a Sky bar with great views but not too great are the views on the side with the new hotel being developed. Appreciate the hotel cannot do too much about this but make sure you do not get a side view room otherwise you will be impacted. The noise level from the site was fine, however pointless using Sky bar and pool in the day due to this. We used the main pool on the seafront which was excellent and not too busy. Breakfast was fine, as you would expect. A couple of staff were excellent, however a little disappointed the head person on 5 visits never spoke or even made eye contact with us, in fact seemed to ignore everyone. A little customer service from the top would have been nice. This was probably why we did not eat in the evening with the hotel. Our room was fine, clean and only a minor issues with housekeeping leaving dirty glasses on a couple of days. Reception was fine, however when we paid the bill was not asked how our stay was. Overall we would recommend this hotel but check your room location first as this development is going to take a few years to complete.

Beautiful hotel however be aware that there is construction work happening next to the hotel. If you have a forward facing lake view room you should be fine however if you have a side room and want to use your balcony you will hear construction noise between 8am and 6pm. The room description we booked was a Junior Suite with Lake View and Balcony. It was on the fifth floor, there was a lake view but it also faced the construction site. We were informed by TUI four days prior to the holiday about this ongoing work even though it started in April 2024 and we booked it in February 2026. There is no information about it when booking on the App. Having said the above there are lots of positives. The hotel room itself was very good. The staff are polite and professional. The Sky Bar has brilliant views, great Aperol Spritz and the staff are lovely. We looked forward to artistically presented desserts in the evening. The Borromean Islands and gardens are stunning. Stresa’s promenade and gardens are nice to stoll along. We ate out two evenings in the town which is only a five minute walk from the hotel. We had to try authentic pizza (Ristorante Pizzeria Mamma Mia) friendly atmosphere and delicious food also Italian ice cream (L'Angolo del Gelato) tiramisu gelato is delicious. If you can put up with constuction noise in the day, we’re older so it bothered us, it’s a great hotel and area. At least you have the information to make an informed decision before booking.

“Research about private events before booking!!”

The La Palma hotel is beautiful and the staff is mostly fantastic, but be cautious booking here without researching first. We reserved the hotel specifically because of the spectacular roof deck (Sky Bar) which we wanted to enjoy in the evening. We were shocked to find out later that evening that there was a private event and guest were told (initially) that they could not have access to the roof! Some guests were turned away at the elevator. Later we were told we could only gather at the pool where there were no umbrellas or tables in direct sun. We complained to Dili at the front desk and she said she would call someone, but apparently, there was nothing that could be done. Clearly the hotel management values private parties over their guests. Alexa, also at the front desk, overheard us and called the Sky Bar manager who arranged a table. In the end, the hotel did allow us to have access to a corner of the deck and the staff went out of their way to create a good experience for us, including a complimentary cocktail. We were happy with this outcome. We understand that the hotel wants to make additional money from their wonderful deck. But it is not acceptable to deny hotel guests without advance notice to the hotel’s best feature. Why not just add additional umbrellas so you can accommodate a private party plus your paying guests? This is a big management issue which will need to be sorted in the future, and we should not have to go to so much trouble to have a good hotel experience.
