“Interesting design and decor, excellent breakfast”

Some of the aspects of the room were perhaps eccentric - the bubble of a bathroom set within the room, the absence of a bedside table. But a fabulous painted ceiling and interesting furniture. And the homemade chocolate cake served at breakfast was the finest I have ever had.

Walking into the Hotel Dei Pittori from the summer heat of Turin is a wonderful experience: cool and comfortable surroundings; art nouveau decor, fittings and furnishings; welcoming staff. We loved the unique arrangement of the room, full of vintage charm and modern comforts. Most of all we appreciated the staff, especially our receptionist who was very kind and helpful.

“Lodging did not live up to expectations set by online marketing”

The photos on the online listing do not accurately represent the current state of facility. The photos on the online listing do not accurately represent the current state of facility. Wall paper has either been removed or, as the state of it in our bathroom, it was peeling off walls at the seams. Accents have been removed (throw rugs, decorations, etc.). The accent light fixture in our room was not functional. I had a glitch where only one guest was noted on my reservation which was made directly on the hotel website. I had overlooked this upon booking. Upon checking in, they charged us the additional 35 Euro/per person/per night due to my error - I checked the website to see where/how I errored. I was able to duplicate the glitch. I then took my device to the front desk, demonstrated the technical error, and I was advised that it was policy for the upgrade charge. We then advised that the web prices were more along the lines of 10 Euro/per person/per night and, again, they advised this was their policy. I was disappointed that they were not willing to make consideration to accommodate us on THEIR technical glitch. We had a room on first floor and the April days were quite warm. On our first night, we opened windows to cool the room at night. However, the neighborhood is very noisy on the Friday and Saturday nights (through the night until approximately 2:00 AM) that we were there. On the next day, we asked at the front desk if we could turn the split on for air conditioning for the next night due to concern of leaving windows open. We were advised that it was too early in the season and that air conditioning was not available. All in all - lodging and included breakfast was adequate. However, we were disappointed with with the discrepancy between the hotel website and the present day facilities.
