“Friendly and helpful hotel”

I stayed here as part of a cycling group holiday, having booked a solo room. The room provided was very reasonable, large, windows, and a good sized bathroom. We stayed for 2 nights, and as other reviewers have mentioned, the hotel is quite dated, but the room was very nice, there was a lift, a place we could all meet to discuss the following days (or evenings) activities, and the breakfast was really good, especially the range of croissants stuffed with jam, cream, or chocolate. At the end of the evening, there was no problem for the daft to provide a large mug of boiling water for me to make my own herbal tea in my room, having forgotten my travel kettle.

“A decent hotel”

We drive along the main road of Altemora looking for an hotel and saw a nice modern building/hotel. We asked for 2 rooms and the price given to us was very reasonable (we compared to the various web sites..).The rooms are clean and nice and breakfast was satisfactory.

“Looking tired”

Stayed for two nights as part of an organised tour. The hotel is centrally located, close to the old town and looks well-maintained from the outside. The decor inside is quite dated however and is overdue for a refurbishment. The bedrooms have the typical decor of a business hotel from the 80's… more

Stayed for two nights as part of an organised tour. The hotel is centrally located, close to the old town and looks well-maintained from the outside. The decor inside is quite dated however and is overdue for a refurbishment. The bedrooms have the typical decor of a business hotel from the 80's - little charm, impersonal and worn around the edges. The wear and tear was even more apparent in the bathroom; the shower screen was black with mould at the bottom and the shower control had obviously broken off and been fitted with a makeshift lever. The walls to the bedroom and bathroom were very thin so we could hear the person in the next room making a phone call. Although the Reception staff were smiling and friendly, the woman in the breakfast room was miserable every morning and was very slow to replace breakfast items or plates when they ran out. It's definitely not a place I would book myself, but just about adequate for the two nights we stayed on the tour

“They saved me once but rude another time”

I've been with my girlfriend at new years'eve and was the only accomodation to have a room available at reasonable price that night in the area. I've been with my girlfriend at new years'eve and was the only accomodation to have a room available at reasonable price that night in the area. The lady at the reception was very nice so we were ok that night and enjoy the new year's eve.The place needs however refurbishment works. Few weeks after that happened I needed a room early in the morning just for myself and the young guy at the reception didn't want to give me a room saying it was a waste to spend money just for few hours and ask me to come back after 10 am. That was very rude, I told the guy there was no money issue and he refused me again to let me in repeating the same thing he already told me. Then I went to another hotel and got a room with no problem.
