Review of the Primo Ostuni Hotel PUGLIA Ostuni is a city that must be visited if for nothing else but the food, the wine, the atmosphere and the hotels. I have been lucky to stay in all of the best hotels in Ostuni over many years and I even managed to read several other reviews of the Primo Hotel and all had the same theme running through them and all were complementary as well. My review is maybe a little different. I will do it by numbers. The hotel building itself: 10/10 The exterior colour of white makes it stand out and is a nod to the city of Ostuni also known as the white city which in the historical part everything is painted white with an abundance of flowers in large pots breaking the colour white up and with old cobbled streets. The Location: 10/10 It is situated about 400/500 metres away from the centre of Ostuni away from the joyous noise of excitement at evening time especially in the summer. Car parking: 11/10 Parking is right outside the hotel albeit public parking and payable. If you ask nicely, they will let you park in a private car park operated by their sister Hotel The Monte Sarago about 300 meters away. The Room: 13/10 I stayed in a room with a panoramic view and just one word describes the view. Incredible. You can see the Adriatic in the distance and hundreds of olive trees all the way down to the coast. The room, like the hotel is minimalist with a huge Queen size bed, TV and all the amenities one would expect. Big enough for a fairly large party and strangely enough, so was the shower area. Black furniture and walls painted in the warmest white colour I have ever seen which gives you a sense of a cuddle or a hug and friendliness. The towels, fluffy as one can get with the hotel name emblazoned on each towel, so no stealing of towels. Spotlessly clean every day of my stay with room service if needed. A huge window to watch the world go by but really quiet when shut. You have the room to yourself. The Breakfast: 9/10 Food was buffet style with lots of different offerings, typically Italian and a nod to the bacon and eggs as well.I thought that a bit more variety say on the cheese board and cake offerings would have been welcomed and a wider range of jams. It’s in no way a fault of the hotel, there was an abundance of everything but just a little more variety as I've been spoiled over the years having stayed in dozens of hotels around the world. I ate well though. The staff: 15/10 Leonardo and his colleagues kept on giving and more giving. Nothing was too much and everything was immediate and all with the biggest smiles possible. To have a responsive team like that is a huge advantage to the hotel and in my travels around the globe it is rare to find such ease, such personalities and genuine kindness all wrapped up in one. It was a genuine pleasure to meet everyone.I always walked away with a smile on my face. Pricing: 11/10 Remarkable pricing for what you get for the night, good value and a sense of welcoming. Would I stay again……ABSOLUTELY!

“Perfect place to stay in Ostuni”

Beautiful modern hotel just outside the historical center of Ostuni, just a 5 minute walk away. Our room was very spacious and clean. The thermostat is very sophisticated and won’t run if you have a window open. Plenty of plugs in the room and USB ports on each side of the bed. Adequate closet s… more

Beautiful modern hotel just outside the historical center of Ostuni, just a 5 minute walk away. Our room was very spacious and clean. The thermostat is very sophisticated and won’t run if you have a window open. Plenty of plugs in the room and USB ports on each side of the bed. Adequate closet space and lots of cubbies in addition to a good sized counter with mirror in the room. They also provide a safe. The bathroom was also spacious. Good counter space around the sink. The mirror had a built in magnified section. The shower was huge and didn’t have any step to get in. Good water pressure. Oddly no tissues were provided- really the only negative thing about the room. The breakfast buffet was quite nice with almost anything you could think of available. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and exceptionally well cared for. We would especially like to recognize Nicoletta and her team of Claudia, Christian, Martina, and Leonardo at the front desk. Their kindness, knowledge, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness truly stood out throughout our stay. Each of them went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well informed, and their positive energy made a lasting impression on us. “Not 4 star, but clean hotel on outskirts of town with great staff”

Fantastic staff who are exceptionally service oriented. Truly superb. Very clean and modern hotel. Decent continental breakfast included. Overall, a great 3 star property on the edge of town, not far from the old town as advertised (but unfortunately overlooking a rather incongruous, large parking lot where tours buses come and go). It should also be noted this is not a 4 star hotel. I stayed in their best room and paid 170 euros / night but strangely no laundry service is available (which I would expect even if I paid 100 euros / night) as noted on their website. I’ve never seen a 4 star hotel without laundry service but no problem, I asked the front desk — as per their website — where the closest self service laundromat was. Unfortunately I then spent the next hour searching for it (there was no clear address and it was unlocatable on my iPhone map). After wandering down highways on the outskirts of town I finally found the place — in the middle of nowhere, next to a car wash and gas station. So I’m having a bad coffee at a gas station far from the sites of the old town while waiting for laundry to finish (incredibly, a very attentive hotel employee came of his own volition to find me in his car!). This is hotel management issue and has nothing to do with the great staff. As I’ve communicated to the team, management needs to seriously assess its approach to laundry services and recommendations for off-site self service laundry mats if they continue to not offer laundry services. Incidentally, I discovered there are other service laundry mats in beauful parts of the actual town of Ostuni which would be much preferable. A bizarre aspect of an otherwise great hotel.
