Great trip to the Padre Pio shrine and stopped to grab a bite to eat with my family. There were 9 of us in total. Nice place, plenty of parking and a cordial atmosphere. Food was very good and authentic. A few mid steps from being excellent. Plates were a bit dated and 90’s style. Salad was plain ice berg lettuce with sachets of oil and vinegar. A shame for the oil in Puglia is to die for. Pasta was fantastic and seafood was sublime. The fried seafood platter was not up to par as the pasta. Tasted a bit dry and poorly executed with little flavour. The drying old dried old the fish. My suggestion would be a starter and a pasta dish and your visits will be a memorable one.

“Got mouthful of black sand eating clam”

And all i got was a sorry that it happens sometimes and was told to report it to my waiter next time. There won't be a next time. I had reported it and all he did was take away the cup of black sand I spit out and the dirty clam.

“Accommodating”

Finding this hotel in the dark at night was a challenge because the sign says "Ristorante"; we drove past it a few times until i finally called the hotel and they gave us better directions. Finding this hotel in the dark at night was a challenge because the sign says "Ristorante"; we drove past it a few times until i finally called the hotel and they gave us better directions. We arrived late and they still accommodated us for dinner at 10:45pm. The room was spacious and clean. WiFi was patchy in the room, but was better in the lobby. They actually close the hotel at midnight, locking the front doors and blocking access to the lobby from the rooms. However, they do keep one unlocked door on the side of the building. Breakfast consisted of croissants, toast, and made-to-order coffee. Overall, good value for the price.

It was not difficult to find and a sizeable car park. Because the whole of the reception area and dining room were made of marble it was very noisy. The receptionist was very helpful and made us feel welcome. The room was a good size and the bathroom well appointed. The only problem with the room was that it was over the main entrance and people congregated there until quite late, some smoking, and others did so quite early in the morning, so we found we had to close the window. Fortunately it was not particularly hot. The bed was comfortable and from that point of view we had a good night's sleep. We dined in the hotel the night we arrived and it was full of three different groups of local people celebrating something so the room was very noisy. There was no menu nor wine list. They wanted us to choose either the meat or the fish menu. After a bit of persuading they did produce a menu and we found a couple of things on it we wanted. They were not the best dishes ever. Nonetheless they were concerned and tried to please. The best part of the meal was the ice cream dessert. The stay suited our purpose but not sure we would stay there for any longer despite the helpful personnel.
