Travelled as a group and stayed in the family suites which were clean and very comfortable. Location perfect as shuttle bus to centre is only a 5 min walk which runs every 20 mins till late. Also could take a bus to neighbouring towns. It would take about 30-40 mins to walk into centre with stunning views of the lake and have a swim to cool off. Breakfast was lovely and nice setting to eat outside. We also had lunch a few times and drinks from the bar. Pool was so clean with plenty of sun loungers and towel hire available. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Reception responded by email to all my queries before arrival quickly and helped us arrange a taxi to our wine tour . Giovanni was so lovely looking after us every day and even set us a table each day so we could all sit together every breakfast and lunch . Wish we were back there.

This is a real gem of a hotel with wonderful staff who make your stay extra special. Lou and Cesare communicated with us via whatsapp before and during our stay and were extremely responsive and helpful. We stayed in room 8, a penthouse suite in the annexe building. It had a separate bedroom and a living area with a sofa bed, ideal when travelling with children. It was very clean with well kept modern decor and 2 large separate balconies that wrapped around the building with distant views of Lake Garda. Although described as having a kitchenette, it had a kettle and fridge handy for cold drinks and small snacks but no equipment such as plates, cutlery etc. Shutters on the windows helped to keep the rooms cool and dark, along with great air conditioning which was much needed in the heat. Each morning Giovanna warmly welcomes you to a wonderful, plentiful breakfast with a good choice of cereals, breads, hams, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts, pastries and Linda's fabulous freshly made cakes. Tea, juice and a range of coffee types are also provided. You can choose to sit inside or in the lovely courtyard area next to the pool. Without asking, when we told Lou we would need to check out early on our departure day, she said they would provide a breakfast bag for us so we could eat on the way to the airport. These little gestures make all the difference and we appreciated the kindness. The pool area was clean and well maintained and sunbeds were always available. My children were very happy playing in it, especially in the heat we were lucky enough to have. The bar serves a choice of snack type food and very reasonably priced drinks including cocktails which you can have poolside if you wish. Although not initially planned, we hired a car during our stay and found plenty of space in the hotel car park. We travelled to Verona which is not to be missed and also Lazise, Bardalino and Gardaland. For those without transport, despite being located well outside the historic centre of Sirmione, the stop for the seasonal shuttle bus is only a few minutes around the corner. It's 2 euro's per person per journey, although sometimes they didn't charge for children. You just tap on and off with a bank card. It's so much easier than having to deal with at times the parking pressure near the castle area. Overall, Hotel Gardenia was a welcome retreat where you could truly relax while still having lots of lovely authentic restaurants and shops nearby. I would highly recommend, particularly to those who want an authentic, quality and relaxing stay.

We have just returned from a fab week at Hotel Gardenia. We had selected a superior triple which had a small balcony which was perfect for sitting out, with a lake view in the distance. The staff were all so lovely and friendly, a big shout out to Francesco who served up our drinks with a smile and banter! Reception and breakfast also lovely. The location is perfect, about half an hour walk to the old town if you want to visit, but plenty of restaurants near the hotel. We got the bus to Verona and another local town Peschiera, both stunning! The bus is easy to use and cheap! Breakfast was included and was lovely. My hubby missed having boiled eggs but there was still lovely fruit, homemade cakes, cheese, meats, plus scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. We rarely return to the same place but we will definitely be back!

“Great authentic, friendly hotel”

Lovely friendly, spotlessly clean hotel set just outside Sirmione. Our room was large with a great rainfall shower. Lovely friendly, spotlessly clean hotel set just outside Sirmione. Our room was large with a great rainfall shower. Very small balcony with a bistro set which unfortunately looked straight into massive trees but we didn’t spend much time in the room anyway. Air con was good and kettle/cups useful but take your own tea/coffee as none provided. Great pool and plenty of sunbeds/parasols. Breakfast was plentiful and taken inside or outside by the pool. Lunch snacks were good and the iced coffees were a must. Just round the corner from the hotel (turn left out of hotel and then first left) is a Co-op supermarket and plenty of restaurants (can recommend Pier). Further down the left hand road is bus stop 8 which will take you straight into Sirmione - 2 euros tap on/off with your debit card. It’s on a loop so you can’t get lost! They run every 10 minutes or so. The walk takes about 45 mins to Sirmione old town and, in the extreme heat, it wasn’t an option. The lake is a 5 minute walk away and the lake path is quiet and dotted with restaurants. Visited the castle (beat to go early) and caught the boat to re-visit Garda/Bardolino from previous stays round the lake.
