This is one of the most wonderful and memorable places we've stayed. It's hard to sum up everything that makes this place 5 stars: gourmet breakfast and half board meals, clean and beautiful rooms, fun and varied backyard for the kids, and above all, the warmest hosts/owners who you can tell take pride in their hotel. My 10 and 13 year old kids didn't want to leave; we all wish to return. Maybe my kids will. A superlative place.

Miriam and Oskar are the kindest hosts and their warmth was reflected in our experience at their hotel. From the moment we arrived to the day we left, everyday was a terrific experience. We were visiting the Dolomites to bike and opted for the half board. What a great choice. Breakfast was delightful and plentiful, while dinner, as many have noted , was a 5 star meal. The rooms were new, clean and comfortable. When not cycling or hiking we used public transportation and the hotel had a bus stop right beside it. Miriam helped us with the schedules, making sure we were on the right bus at the right time. Shout out to the caring staff of the hotel, who reflected Oskar and Miriam’s commitment to a great stay. How would I rate our experience.. fantastic. Would I change anything? One thing… a new bike floor pump. 😂😂…

Well located small boutique hotel run by a very welcoming and attentive family, rooms were very spacious well designed and of exceptional quality, agree with previous reviews that due to the balconies being road facing they were affected by traffic noise however when the balcony door is closed the noise is shut out and doesn’t affect anyone. Breakfast was outstanding great selection of fresh produce every day, liked the idea of boiling your own eggs which ensured we had a warm perfected cooked egg, as for the evening meal it far exceeded a 3 star hotel with ingredients lovingly prepared with 5 star presentation, all in all a perfect stay which we look forward to experiencing again in the future. We stayed at this hotel beginning of July and had a wonderful time there. This is a family business with really nice people, passionate about what they do and no matter what, they do it with a genuine smile all the time. The Pros: new spacious rooms, large walk-in shower, large balconies with coffee table and chairs, very good WiFi service, nice garden with swings, tables & chairs, sunbeds and a small aromatic herbs raised bed. The food was a bit repetitive at breakfast, if you stay for a week, it gets a little bit boring. And it's the first time I stay at a hotel where I have to boil my eggs for breakfast, and pay extra if you want it sunny side up, but we turned a blind eye and we enjoyed the rest. Dinnertime was a totally different story, the chef's 4-course menu was absolutely stunning. I still remember the canolo with porcini velouté or the salmon crostini with wasabi icecream. It was way beyond what you'd expect from a 3* hotel dinner, all very well thought in terms of taste, texture and plating. The cons: rooms on the street side were quite noisy, we couldn't sleep well at all. The balcony although nicely furnished and with beautiful view, it was difficult to use as you practically sit 3 meters from the main road. Being charged for tap water at dinner was in huge contrast with the warm hospitality concept they try to create. I understand in Italy they charge even for the air you breathe 😂 but, I would have preferred paying 30Eur more for the accommodation and being offered "on the house" the tiny bottle of water (frizzante or still) at dinner. It's a minor detail but it leaves a better impression in the end. All in all, we had a fabulous holiday there, the Dolomites are simply out of this world. Tre Cime, Seceda, Cinque Tori and Braies Lake are MUST-SEEs. We've been there for a week and there was so much to see and do that we plan to come back next year. We highly recommend Hotel Gardenazza in Alta Badia, the Irsara family are such wonderful people with a genuine passion for what they do. We felt welcome and cared for, and that's what hospitality should all be about. A big "thank you" to the lovely Miriam, Oskar and the restaurant team for their efforts to give us a great time in the Dolomites. And grazie mille for the little bread you gave us for the road when we checked-out, it was simply delicious.
