“Excellent Hotel”

We stayed at Drumlerhof hotel for a week in March. It is a lovely family owned hotel. All of the staff were were friendly, approachable and very helpful. In the restaurant we were served by Maria and Daniel who deserve special mention. We were on half board. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. The bedrooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed time in the rooftop pool and spa. Included in the week were 4 guided snowshoe hikes. All were enjoyable but you needed a reasonable level of fitness.

“Fabulous!”

Just the best, can't recommend it highly enough, the food was delicious, organic and home or locally grown or sourced, all of our meals were exceptional. Just the best, can't recommend it highly enough, the food was delicious, organic and home or locally grown or sourced, all of our meals were exceptional. Simona at breakfast and Maria at dinner were amongst the most efficient, friendly and helpful hotel staff we have ever come across. Spa was great, pool was big enough, atmosphere was spot on. Room was large and quiet, two balconies!

At the risk of being dull I’m struggling to find anything negative to say about this first rate hotel !. The ( alpine) room we had was spacious, an exceptionally comfortable bed, a good view of the schloss ,everything sparkling clean, the food was of superior restaurant quality, great staff ( special shout out for Maria and Daniel, the thoughtful sommelier) and good pool and spa. Our group was there for the snow shoeing, which was fine despite the snow being on the wane though some more detail as to the routes and for example, bus return times would have been helpful especially where buses are once an hour. Oh yes, actually I do have one minor whinge and that is the lack of any tea making facilities in the room.It’s “ not their policy “ they say but if you want a cup of tea first or last thing you are a bit stuck ( not us obviously as we are sad enough to travel with a old school travel water boiler but I would much rather have a kettle) We would definitely return.

I was looking for a snowshoeing holiday. On discovering that the Drumlerhof offered guided snowshoe hikes and gluten free dining I was hooked. I was hoping the hotel would be excellent and so it proved to be. We stayed on a half board basis. The hotel provided a variety of cakes at 3pm. Also there are two saunas ( 60 and 90 degrees), a steam room, a heated pool in a tranquil space under the roof, an outdoor hot tub, and a spa. My wife was delighted with her Thai yoga treatment from Claudia. The guided snowshoe hikes plus equipment were included in the package price. We also rented spikes from reception for a couple of walks where there were patches of ice. We had a suite with a comfortable bed, a large balcony, and an en-suite with shower. I liked that there was a rucksack in the room for our use. We had two guest passes which allowed us to use all buses and regional trains throughout the Sud Tirol during our stay. The pass is available digitally and can be used on the arrival and departure days so potentially saving a few Euro on transfers. The reception area, lounge, and bar are very comfortable with a mixture of open areas and snugs. And there is a sunny seating area out front which proved very popular as we had several sunny days. A special mention must go to Kathi on reception who really has the most wonderful interpersonal skills. Also we very much enjoyed our evening meals and being looked after by Daniel and Maria. The Ahrntal area is well worth a visit. Although we didn’t use them there appears to be a large area for skiing. The snowshoeing was excellent and there were lots of people cross country skiing. The bus service is excellent and the whole area was immaculate. We expect to return.
