This is a classic, historic hotel that has retained most of its charms, and ideally complements a visit to the beautiful town of Merano. “Perfect!”
I spent here three nights in December. Everything was perfect. Friendly staff, very nice breakfast and beautiful interiors. The position is perfect too, train station is just around the corner and thermal park is 3 min by car. I couldn’t reccomend it enough.

“At least the coffee wasn’t terrible”
This is not a 4-star hotel. It may have been in the 1960s or 70s but by the look of things it hasn’t had any updates since then. “Disappointing - not a 4 star, no restaurant, no in-room amenities”
This is a grand old building that was probably a 5 star 130 years ago when it was built. Unfortunately, the present operators have cut back on everything - no restaurant, no amenities in the room (not even a bar of soap or box of Kleenex), no porter to help carry the luggage.
