We stayed for the last 2 weeks of May. The room was very comfortable with a good mountain view. The 'Trentino Card' we asked for immediately at reception. I had to download the 'My Trentino' app, then got a code from reception to validate it, and we got free bus travel in the Trentino area for the full duration of our stay. Free admission to museums, castles, the 'Bastione' in Riva del Garda, and more!!! Excellent value!!! The Hotel Angelina is right beside a Lidl supermarket. Much cheaper than the UK for wine 🍷 and water. Was I best to turn water into wine🍷 ? I couldn't do that so I just turned wine 🍷 into water! Breakfast was plentiful, lots to choose from. Dinners were excellent! The pasta courses were very good. Main courses also with a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian dishes. The desserts were a choice of everything Italian, Tiramisu, Panna Cottage, Limoncello with ice cream and even Apple Strudel (for the Germans). Very good! I managed to have the Limoncello and ice cream most evenings. In fact just about everyone had this. In the hot weather it was cooling. Wine 🍷 in the restaurant was between €15 - €20 a bottle. Excellent value and really good wines. A Cappuccino from the bar at breakfast sets you up for the day. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely return next year!

The hotel was previously owned by the family Angelina, who recently sold it to the family Maroadi who own the campsite next to and close to the hotel, which is what we were told, from the pool and restaurant you can visibly see the touring caravans pitched right up to the hotel perimeter, and the pool area. The hotel is not in the centre of Torbole, walking times to centre vary taking the lake route is longer, main road footpath shorter, about 10 to 40 minutes depending on mobility, both routes you will encounter lots and lots of cyclists. Same mentality displayed as on the roads and footpaths in UK. Riva, Arco and Nago all can be walked but is down to mobility, weather and cyclists who are everywhere. I would say the hotel is well located for Lake, Torbole and Riva, bus stop to Riva is across the road, this is where you are dropped of by coach. Picked up outside on departure day. Hotel is situated on a busy main road, as are most hotels around Lake Garda A mountain view room, if you can put up with traffic noise has good views across the road. There is frequent queuing traffic and lots of footfall passing by so if you want to watch the human race go by then sit on your balcony with a drink and nibbles from Lidl conveniently located next to hotel. Don't forget to use your Lidl Ap, just change your location to use. Rooms overlooking the campsite, guests we spoke to said there was no noise. Hotel rooms are small and basic they do the job, cleaned daily with free shower gel and hand wash. Free safe, no kettle or fridge and unusual no cups, not even plastic ones in bathroom, consider packing a couple of plastic cups. Wine started at 15 euros a bottle, unfinished wine can be kept for next night, 9 euros for half litre caraf water 2.50 euros a half or 3.50 a litre, the Spritzer is 6 euros. Breakfast is buffet, good selection which includes fresh fruit. Half board you choose at breakfast, salad bowl made up to start with breadsticks, then you choose from 3 starters and 3 mains, around 4 desserts, which you choose at end of meal which do not change, but can be varied. You can settle your bill at any time including that dreaded room tax at 40 euros for 14 nights. We paid tax upfront and settled bar bill every couple of days in cash. It was wrong a few times, sometimes missing items, other times a drink we had not purchased had been added. Quickly rectified. Payment is card or cash. Get your Garda card, from reception to get free or reduced travel on buses and ferries and free entry to museums. Get this straightaway. You have to ask. Concern is that some of the guests may be a problem with noise, according to time of year. Torbole is full of wind surfers who stretch out towards Riva, often a problem for the ferries as they play chicken getting far too close cutting deliberately in front despite clear warning from the ferry Captain. This you will witness if you use the ferry, which is reduced price with the Garda card. Staff friendly and helpful speak English interact well with guests. This did not bother us, we had around 6 days where we were the only English guests, the majority being German. Garda has lots of German visitors so expect to be spoken to in German when out and about. This was our first time here, and based on our stay would come back. I don't know what changes have or will take place with the new owners, it seems from what we discovered that the preference was for the way the hotel looked and was run by the previous owners who visited and engaged with staff and guests daily was a very welcomed feature of the old hotel.

“Impeccably Clean, Friendly, Comfortable, Good food throughout my 2 week stay, 5 minute walk to lake.”

Could not fault the staff or the hotel, if you were to question, challenge myself on any aspect of my fortnight’s stay in this hotel every answer would be very good or excellent. Could not fault the staff or the hotel, if you were to question, challenge myself on any aspect of my fortnight’s stay in this hotel every answer would be very good or excellent. I have checked most 1/2 board hotels around Lake Garda and stayed in quite a few of them but none match the high standards and very competitive price for a 2 week stay, Due to a health issue with my hip I was bed bound, stuck in my room for 3 days and the staff brought a tray/ trolley with food to my room and always with a smile and checking on my well being. My wife and I will certainly be returning next year without question.

The Hotel in general is fairly basic however as your off exploring the towns around lake garda then this is fine and the hotel is perfectly located. Rooms are basic but comfortable, ensuite bathrooms and balcony's. Beds were a little on the firm side but not a problem for me. Room and bathroom were clean. Some traffic noise and you could hear noise from neighbouring room when they arrived back from an excursion late. Breakfast was fairly basic as only 3 cooked items but a good choice of cereals, fruits, breads and pastries. Also plenty of tea/coffee and juices. Did the job and filled you up ready for a day exploring. Evening meal, you get to pick your pasta dish and main dish at breakfast ready for the evening meal. The starter salad was poor but a bread roll helped take the edge off the blandness. The pasta dish was lovely, as was the main dish and dessert was picked at the table once you had finished your main dish. Dessert was lovely with a good selection. Staff were great all round, special shout out to the evening waiter though. Great English spoken but also really good at remembering what drinks you ordered and dessert you liked. Always had a smile on his face and happy to chat. Remember to ask about the Garda card at reception. Overall the hotel was great but don't go expecting 5 star luxury.
